Those of you who will have seen older ST media may remember the concept of mind raping to have been addressed before. Deanna gets mind raped in both the TNG series and later Nemesis movie. Anything after the JJ reboot movie isn't worth watching or reading, and depending who you ask many of the TNG films aren't worth it either due to various retcons and inconsistencies.
The Picard series introduced a lot of backstory to Picard which basically turned him into an abuse victim at the hands of his parents and this comic seems to be compounding that albeit not actually talking about the point the Betazoid just mindraped Picard.
Also these aren't even my own main gripes about the Picard series, that I've brought up in other threads before.
I heard Picard season 3 was good but I haven’t seen it. I gave JJ movies a shot and was going to give Discivery a chance but they ran their mouths about diversity and representation and gushed over a black female. I was like the show has had a black captain and female captain over 20 years prior. Final straw was the cast taking a knee for Kapernick.
Trusting reviews of "It gets better after X" is always pretty risky. If something is consistently bad, the reviews will still get consistently better, because people who didn't like it are a lot less likely to keep on trying. So is it really better in season 3, or did all the people who would say otherwise stop watching after season 1 and 2?

The 2009 Star Trek reboot film is unironically a Star Wars movie. It's a movie set in the stars and is basically nothing but fighting, aka war.
Meanwhile The Force Awakens ended up being more about a journey across the stars, a trek if you will.

When they first announced discovery I thought it would be set in the future but of course not because we have to have Spock being mentored by a black woman. Honestly just make a Star Trek show like 50 or 100 years after TNG. Maybe have a new crew exploring a new galaxy
That's what they said end up doing in season 3, taking Discovery to the 31st or 32nd century because the story was so bad it wrote itself into numerous corners that couldn't be resolved into the timeline at all.
The spore drive appearing for all of 2 seasons in the 2200s because the show wanted to ignore warp travel and simply pop up at a new destination every week. The various characters who are all totally super important and yet I nobody has ever mentioned them once. A crew made up of mutineers, cannibals, terrorists, and more yet somehow granted continuing permission to command a starship.
So they simply take the ship into the future. And then shit all over what that future will be by breaking up the Federation during the timeskip, destroying warp technology, and continuing to write the crew of mutineers, cannibals, terrorists, and more like they are some paragons of the Federation instead of who should be in the next torpedo being fired into the sun.
I know I've linked the site directly this time, and in a few of my more recent comic rants, but just to clarify I don't spend money on this trash. At this point I just check in on certain titles to see how shit they are.
