Would make for an interesting reality/hidden camera show where they go to white liberal areas and ask them to sign up for a program to take in black and Hispanic parolees until they get back on their feet.
This was on full display during Floyd riots. The people cheering on the riots knowing their neighborhoods wouldn’t be affected. Of course you had those who destroyed their own neighborhoods only to complain about food deserts and lack of job opportunities months later
I remember the Chicago grocery stores (Aldi's & Save-a-lots) that pulled out, with the sites being left vacant. I think there's going to be an attempt at a government owned grocery store, (which will be a disaster.)
The ashes often aren't cold before stores choose not to rebuild. Plus, insurance doesn't cover the losses due to shoplifting. Even investing in security can't stanch those losses enough to make these locations turn a profit.
So yes. You're totally right. There are food deserts, and nobody wants to talk about the communal behaviors that make running a grocery store unprofitable. They just want stores to run at a loss forever to 'serve' those areas.
In his book Basic Economics, Thomas Sowell breaks down just how much more stores in high crime areas have to spend. Add to that the fact that the city will have the police stand down should riots erupt over a media approved narrative
Most of the people arguing for stores in food deserts would respond like vampires to a crucifix if you presented Sowell's book to them... but that's leftists in a nutshell.
I laughed out loud thinking of that image. That would make for a good comedy. From what I hear of the old cartoon Boondocks they may have pulled off such a joke
But seriously I always scream when I hear my local news report about food deserts in certain areas but never examines why businesses won’t move into those areas.
They also don't help those stores deal with shoplifting.
I went to a CVS today that had more cameras than London. Still, I don't think the store would do anything if you just walked out with stuff. They clearly have a problem that they're not going to do anything about. They charge enough. Maybe they still make a profit.
The homeless people live outside of CVS, so I suppose they just come in and take what they want. Maybe they pay; people give them money. I also noticed they close at 7. My guess is not many paying customers after dark, given that it's basically a homeless encampment.
And then don’t forget the cities that allow up to 1000 in shoplifting
Occasionally I see shoplifters post on social media them selling their stolen goods right outside the store. And of course, the communists praise them.
Self enforced food deserts in some cases. After Englewood lost their Whole Foods, the residents started throwing a fit when a Save A Lot said they would move in.

there was a save a lot around here a decade or so ago and it always struck me as a pretty sad place, but they did have lots of weird shit nobody else had.
I would like to see a government-run grocery store, if only to experience what's it's like to shop during the Soviet Union.
There are a number of short form videos that do exactly that.

That was hilarious! About what I expected
Also force blacks and latibos to take in illegal aliens since they vote democrat at 90%
Heck, any Democrat. Thats why I love seeing them get upset about them being bussed to their cities
To be fair I wouldn't take in White parolees either unless I personally knew them.
I get that, just saying they virtue signal so loudly. I guess it’s similar to black peoples in nice neighborhoods constantly whining about oppression but never leave
