Most of the people arguing for stores in food deserts would respond like vampires to a crucifix if you presented Sowell's book to them... but that's leftists in a nutshell.
I laughed out loud thinking of that image. That would make for a good comedy. From what I hear of the old cartoon Boondocks they may have pulled off such a joke
But seriously I always scream when I hear my local news report about food deserts in certain areas but never examines why businesses won’t move into those areas.
Yep. I was specifically thinking of Ruckus presenting Sowell instead of the bible: READ NIGGA, REAAAAD!!
I live in a food desert. 2mi in all directions, not one supermarket. Then again, I live rural, so that makes total sense, but I don't get why they whinge so much at needing to walk an hour for groceries. I'll go out and bike it, even in winter, oftentimes.
I had a great aunt and uncle who had a 40 acre farm when I was a kid so they had a rural food desert but they farmed. Granted they went to the nearest store when they had to.
How cold does it get?
did they have a mule?
