Who's actually making it, who are they making it for, and what is their intent with making it, is the question. I know nothing about that AppleTV series. I just know Godzilla Minus One is made by Toho, mostly for a traditional Japanese audience (but of course welcome international viewing too should they desire to).
Its made for the people who complained about human characters in the 2014 Godzilla movie, as its entirely designed to try and create a super dramatic storyline with monsters as the backdrop. So it'll be praised to the high heavens constantly and then forgotten about a year after its conclusion (like all the Marvel TV shows).
Well given it's Apple it would be purely monetary, I watched the first episode and it was just so slow. One of the problem when they make a TV show from an action film is the pacing is lost and it becomes boring.
I was getting the impression it was a limited sort of screening, but that's not the case at all. Even my local theater has it, and is showing well into next week, so I might go see it on next Tuesday (where they do $5 Tuesday tickets).
Unfortunately - probably unlikely given the ownership ( I asked AI ...)
The biggest shareholders in Disney are the institutional investors who own a large percentage of the company's shares. According to the web search results, some of the top institutional holders of Disney are:

This also could be a symptom of something much larger, as “superhero fatigue” seems to be setting in and audiences are having less of an interest in Marvel IP as the universe gets larger and larger.
I'm amazed they finally admitted this. Anime has a similar problem with game based anime and Isekai. The show has to be something pretty decent or have an intriguing concept for me to watch it these days otherwise it's an automatic drop because you can usually tell the entire plot from the first episode. This is why Frieren is getting so much praise because even a standard fantasy story is a major breath of fresh air these days in the age of neverending Isekai harem spam. Oversaturation of a market is such a basic concept.
it just shows you what trend followers these studios really are at the end of the day. Something that I'm planning on doing is the exact opposite of following the herd. I'm going to keep an eye on trends and if I see one trend being spammed way too much I'm going to pick a different genre to go for. I don't understand why more businesses don't at least try this to see if they get a different reception but that would require not being the uppity douchebags they clearly are.
it’s funny they are saying that when all other Disney IPs are failing in a similar fashion. They are literally going back to Frozen to try to save their asses.
lol yes that's true, same for Star Wars but to be fair I do think the super hero fatigue point is a valid one. The joke is they clearly even recognise this but they don't do anything about it and simply pump out more super hero garbage instead.
Clearly the case. Spider-Man No Way Home came out after endgame and made almost $2.5 billion. People aren’t tired of the superhero genre. They’re tired of leftism.
Yeah there is that, but let's be real and take into account the normie factor, the normies loved the Avengers movies and that's when it peaked at the box office.
Disney/Hollywood didn't have any ideas after that so they just stuck with what they thought people wanted but it all just kept falling off a cliff. Add to that the absolutely disastrous production standards and now you've got something so bad even the normies won't watch it and they don't really pay attention to anything.
People here have to remember they're not tuned into the woke shit like we are which is why they ask dumb questions like "What's the big deal" and try to write it off. They will however start noticing if the quality drops.
Disney has learned that bait and switch works. Sorry for long post but here is my synopsis of how it will go:
Starts with Elsa and Anna in their kingdom. Suddenly, black princess (BP) from another country asks for help. Elsa goes and Anna stays as steward to the kingdom. During trip to BP’s kingdom, Elsa learns BP has fire powers and evil white man has invaded her kingdom. Elsa starts having feelings to BP. They go help fight off evil white man but he has McGuffin to protect him from their powers. He kidnaps Elsa, has dialogue stating he invaded because black princess blew up his kingdom (“by accident”). Story now stays on BP for the rest of the film. BP discovers reverse McGuffin, saves Elsa, and Elsa has deeper feelings for BP and kiss.
It's not even about offence anymore, they're just shit and really the woke pandering is an excuse for them to continue to exist being shit when they would be have been driven to bankruptcy years ago. Even to this day as another example we still keep having zombies fucking shoved in our faces every damn time.
What about aliens? Or some other fantasy creatures? No, can't have that, you get some generic zombie survival game with a woman and a black main character they spent 5 seconds generating through metahumans and then procedurally generating some terrain and to meet their financial deadline of releasing consumer slop for the next financial year with maybe some assets they bought because devs barely do any work. Then maybe if you're lucky you'll have a studio that has a bunch of fucking woke art graduates in it that will do a teensy bit of detailing to make it passable.
Ooooo I fucking hate them and we can't even get that shit in movies now, aliens and fantasy creatures have mostly gone out the window. I also think this is partly why they're now trying to make a push for game movies and shows, it's another load of franchises for them to milk dry as if they haven't already ruined game franchises enough.
It's funny you mention anime because this isn't the first time they fallen into the same kind of slump where every anime is the same spam. You go back 10-20 years and every anime was a fighting series of some sort even if they didn't originally start as one. Like Bleach, Shaman King, Yu Yu Hakasho, even Yugioh were supernatural stories until they became fighting shows with ever increasing villains.
Go further then that and every show was inserting giant robots to chase the Gundam fanbase.
It just seems to be once a concept really does well and catch's the public's attention everyone tries to jump on the bandwagon with their spin.
But I was told fatigue set in much sooner! It only took 2/3 Star Wars movies for "Star Wars fatigue" to set in so clearly this would have happened around Iron Man 2 were it the case here! [Some will actually say this is true and that the MCU peaked with IM2.]

People at Disney can't even tell that's sarcastic.
Eric Cartman basically runs Disney. ( ''put a chick in it and make her gay'' )
A limited-run Japanese kaiju movie is set to match its opening weekend box office. With ONE-TWENTIETH the budget.
I hope it's better than the Apple TV Godzilla series

I saw it with the kid and his friend. I think it's the best Godzilla movie in a very long time. Highly recommended.
I was getting the impression it was a limited sort of screening, but that's not the case at all. Even my local theater has it, and is showing well into next week, so I might go see it on next Tuesday (where they do $5 Tuesday tickets).
Oh yeah, go see it for sure.
Don't forget Rotten Tomatoes got rid of their "want to see" section and implemented verified ratings because of the first one
the incredible majority of phase 4 has been so bad that people don't even go through the hassle to pirate that trash for free.

Vanguard, Blackrock and State Street are ALWAYS the top investors in any major company. Go look for yourself.

And what's the likelihood they fuck that up too?
Safe bet is they’ll add some black character from another country asks for Elsa’s help and they go on adventure. New character has fire powers.
But will they be lesbians?
She will. And lame.
They already added random non-whites to the sequel.
Judging from the subtle anti-hetero, pro-incest messages of the first one I can only imagine how bad it's gotten since.
lol yes that's true, same for Star Wars but to be fair I do think the super hero fatigue point is a valid one. The joke is they clearly even recognise this but they don't do anything about it and simply pump out more super hero garbage instead.
I don't believe that "superhero fatigue" is a real thing.
I think it's all about the movies being woke trash.
Clearly the case. Spider-Man No Way Home came out after endgame and made almost $2.5 billion. People aren’t tired of the superhero genre. They’re tired of leftism.

They already pozzed Frozen II and they are not going to make the next one White like the first one.

The End
You nailed it.
''Directed by Kathleen Kennedy''
Major studios don't take risks any more. Nothing can be offensive (except to white men of course)

I feel the Shonen sub genre seemed to take market precedence.
