The premise of "disability theory" is that people aren't disabled because they have defects, but the society is making them disabled by not contorting itself and expending infinite resources to make their defects a non-factor in their existence.
I have heard deaf people who claim to want to remain deaf forever because they love being part of "the deaf community." They refuse treatment that might restore their hearing. Same with woke blind people. And I need not remind anyone here about the morbidly obese embracing their fatal flab.
Part of the fundamental premise of marxism is there is no normal or natural. Everything, including physical reality, is socially constructed. And all social constructs need to be overturned in order to "liberate" the "oppressed".
That is why these people can't be allowed to remain in a civilization that was wishes to remain functional.

Deaf community seems pretty extreme. I heard of a couple who wanted a way to conceive a child that was GUARANTEED to make him deaf. Via genetic screening.
