Thats it. Looks like shit.
Fish face mcblondey has long outstayed her welcome for me. Is 80 pounds, and looks like a china doll.
Cgi looks like shit.
Effects look like shit
Arm looks like shit
Theres shitty "somehow palpatine returned" lettering to hand hold you through the movie you already watched.
Theres even a fucking "i am the jedi" moment
Looks like shit.
They went to impressive lengths to demonstrate fundamentally that practical effects are perpetually superior and timeless in Fury Road. This is a cgi skin-suit, and an unwarranted, undesired rehash, down to repeating set pieces with inferior style.
This movie doesn't even have anything to bait you with. It is an obviously bad copy that prances around wearing the name of the real protagonist in the title ("A Mad Max Saga" shut the fuck up). Every moment of the trailer has you asking "What's Max doing though?"
All i can say is that I hope it was expensive. Very, painfully, expensive.
That's bait
Wasn't the whole point of Mad Max was of him being a bit of a drifter in the post apocalypse and would wind up in a situation, have badass scenes then move on again at the end?
Them making a 'saga' out of it just as an excuse to use a side character feels a bit weak.
You're missing the larger picture, it's about turning a male-dominated franchise made popular by Mad Mel and George Miller into a feminist vehicle by putting a lame chick in it who they might make gay.
TL;DR: They're using the Mad Max franchise for subversion.
Subversion in this day and age?
Looks like another flop then, most studios are trying to gravitate towards normal or halfway normal now. Going full left is a disaster nowadays (thankfully)
Ehh, we still see billion-dollar Lefty success stories like Barbie; and Netflix, Paramount, Disney+ and Hulu have never stopped pumping out propaganda despite the incurring losses and drop-offs in subscriptions.
Until we see ESG bux go bust, the major corps will continue to flood the market with propaganda.
Barbie was an anomaly in that they tried SO hard to be pro feminist, it ironically became based showing that women are manipulative harpies that will ruin utopia because they aren't in charge of it.
As for the others, they are bleeding viewership especially Disney so while they haven't stopped, 90 sitcoms get more viewership on Netflix than the propaganda.
Subversion is hostility.
George Miller and Nick Lathouris are the creative team for this movie. so the "they" in this case are the original crew steering this one off a cliff. (except Mel, obviously)
So it's basically like what Ridley Scott did with Aliens. A real shame.
Only in a god no why kind of way.
I liked fury road. Stop pissing on it
Fury Road already had too much Furiosa.
I want a War Boys movie.
Shit, they put her face in front for all the movie posters. It wasn't even subtle. Mad Max was just the excuse for another girlboss franchise.
I don't get Chris Hemsworth being in the movie. Apparently, he's a bad guy, but the bad nose prosthetic just makes him Chris Hemsworth with a bad nose.
He just looks like fat Thor in this movie.
Is it more of the modern day girl power?
Only as far as fishface herself is concerned. Furiosa was an EXCELLENT action girl character. Shes competent, has skills unique to her that make her valuable.
And in her physical confrontation with Max she is DRAMATICALLY outclassed.
But they can't be expected to stick to it. So probably.
Sadly, yes.
Ana Taylor Joy is the poster child for bad cosmetics surgery. The buccal fat surgery turned a fairly attractive woman in vvitch and split into a terrifying creature
Fetal alcohol syndrome
Another modern day release shitting on the lore…
The fucking trailer had shots in a forrest with a horse! Clean water is supposed to be extremely rare but there’s enough in this area and in the sky to support a goddamn flora and fauna system.
Fury Road was a bad subversion, the same way Starship Troopers was. You can see what they were trying to say, and then they forgot men are simple creatures and accidentally made all the "bad guys" awesome looking while the "good guys" were too bland to even register.
Only a bunch of try hard lesbians liked Furiosa walking out of Fury Road, and that didn't last.
Almost any guy who watched it walked out screaming WITNESS and thinking about how fucking awesome all of that shit was. Many of which you can still yell the word at and get them hyped for.
Personally, I use the product and its "unironic" fanbase as a cudgel to both mock and laugh at them for in these cases. Because they didn't just make a single accidental piece, like your American History X example, but the entire movie fails their intention so hard that it barely comes through in the manner they want. Barbie is another recent example of that, where barely anyone got a feminist message from it but everyone got a pro-Ken one.
Obviously don't give them money or sincere support because of this, but still worth a laugh at its existence and the complete failure of its intention so hard it ended up empowering the people they were attacking.
Yep. There was a "Witness Me" pro-Trump meme that had Trump's face edited onto the villain. I can't find it anymore though.
Ugh, it's a prequel.
Fury road was somewhat confused about calling the warlord keeping some order in extreme times evil, but I liked the movie overall. I'm somewhat disappointed that we're not seeing a sequel, and that it looks like Max won't be in it at all.
I'll probably still [acquire] it to watch, though, depending on what people say once it's released.
the first thing I noticed was the amount of CG. one of the things that made fury road such a spectacle was the sheer cojones behind their stunt work. this movie just looks like more marvel slop, and it's not even marvel.
If you spend money on this knowing what you know, then you're explicitly supporting the subversion of good media into leftist propaganda.
In my opinion, it looks okay. The issue is knowing what the writers and director will try to shove down peoples throats in modern times.
I’ve watched the trailer several times now. I’ve went from “yeah this looks cool” to “why are they using so much unnecessary CGI”. I don’t really care for Anya Taylor because she hasn’t been in anything important anyways. A decent actress, but nothing that would warrant movie studios to focus on her. I’m not too worried about her anyways because I never cared for Furiosa the character. I actually more enjoy the lore. Immortan Joe, warboys, cult of the V8, that kind of stuff. So I’m probably going to watch the movie just for that. Despite the bad CGI.
Lots of words to say you have no spine
By having my own opinion and not following a bunch of sheep shows that I will have a bigger spine than you will ever have. Do what you want, but saying someone doesn’t have a spine because they’re going to watch a movie for the lore is the biggest pussy move I have ever seen. Getting all pissy because I don’t follow any group in this world.
