Wearing a 35 year old prop on your face (which you bitched about endlessly while getting famous for it) in order to remind people who you are, because you have done nothing quite notable since
Edit: my hate boner for actors was unwarranted in this case, the image doesnt represent how Burton appeared in person
Holy shit yes. I liked the character but remember him whining about typecasting from TNG preventing him from getting other roles. Child me was like "you selfish dumbass you got the role of the lifetime and you're not even that good at acting."
Yeah it's pretty funny. I like TNG to this day but this nigger was the least important character and completely uninteresting. Outside of other scholar seasoning-americans who never actually watched the show claiming he was their favorite, no one gave one flying fuck about Geordi LaForge.
He should be beyond grateful he was typecast and didn't just have his retarded little roots moment in the 70s before vanishing into obscurity and a cloud of crack smoke.

It's funny too. Geordi is totally a sex pest "nice guy" and would 10000% be cancelled if on today.
I was thinking of mentioning that, he's the forever alone meme. Love when Leah Brahms finds his holodeck goon room complete with the compliant real doll version of her. Pretty sure he would be accused of extreme gaslighting and every sex crime under the sun now. Though I thought it was hilarious in the series finale alternate future he was supposed to have wound up marrying her and having kids.
Yeah, he should've done like Denise Crosby and Will Wheaton and left the show of he was so worried about being typecast. That worked well for them.
I swear, the more I read about the ole production days of TNG the more I hate the cast. With one or two exceptions it seemed like everybody there was some frustrated artist, irritated because they caught their big break in what they perceived to be a silly little Sci Fi show for young boys.
The only two of the main cast I still like on any level are Frakes and O'Meaney. Frakes is on the record as hating how the new wave of actors wants to "make the role their own", and O'Meaney has ripped Hollywood for how they make really racist stereotypes (all Irish have to have the same accent, act the same, etc.) while trying to portray themselves as being non-racist.
Oh, O'Meaney has talked about how the TNG producers wanted him to do a Cork accent (oh, laddie, d'ye knoo, t' tradeetionahl accent o' t' old Caintry?), and didn't realize that there were more Irish accents than that.
The worst part of the modern era and the destruction of the "real actors vs fake show" line is that so many great performances are just shattered in my mind of their excellence by they being shit people. It's like that Kids in the Hall skit where the mayor is in a jam tasting contest, picks a winner, and the crowd gasps because he picked a child molester's jam.
Not that the acting in TNG is particularly exceptional, but it still captured my imagination.
As far as I'm concerned he should be forced to wear the uniform and the visor at all public appearances, like in Galaxy Quest. In fact the only thing he should be doing is appearing in character to promote the opening of shitty used car dealerships in Pasadena, at a flat $35 rate.
The only good thing (I would have given him credit for the work he's done to promote reading to kids, but now that he's politicized it? nah...) to come out of Levar Burton in the last 30 years is the Geordi/Drake meme, and he didn't even have anything to do with it:

And likely had no idea the character was from Somalia.
Motherfucker was Kunta Kinte!

O'Brien
Racist stereotype
Made to suffer

I honestly think it was Reading Rainbow that hurt him more. You get stuck doing children’s shows when you become the main image of one.
It's his lack of talent.
Guys... he didn't wear the Geordi outfit when he was douching it up at this awards show. Someone just did that for the article/thumbnail.

Just to recap: what's acceptable?
Burton would probably agree with that meme.
I'm not sorry lol
Hey, he did two cameos in Community...
