The Bond franchise has been dead for a while now. Just look at Craig's Bond, he was such a generic action movie protagonist that it felt nothing like a Bond movie. There was no love or fun they were dower generic and hollow. I lived through Dalton and thought they couldn't do worse but they proved me wrong. If it says Bond just skip it. There are lots of actual old Bond movies to watch, and they're just better.
I don't know WHO could play Bond nowadays since it'd have to be a complete outsider since any known British male actor is too old, too tainted or just not suited for the part.
Everyone says 'Idris Elba is perfect for it' but I don't think so as he has the charisma needed but he's too, loud to be able to do the quiet scenes necessary for the role. I'd leave it on hiatus to come back at a better time when we have an actor and writers for it to be done right.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson. He's still young, he's got the looks, and he proved with Bullet Train that he's got the swagger. They just need to work up the guts to cast another white guy.
Looking him up as trying to remember him, yeah you have a point he seems great for the role, now they just need the writers necessary to give him a great story to work with.
