Ignoring the fuck out of Typhon (a Greco-Roman figure) for a moment ...
Why the fuck does Ursula look friendly? And neither of them look old enough to be the parent of a 17 year old/some old evil matron.
At least Walt knew how to convey evil through character design.
It's bad enough that it's a Deal with the Devil story with an out at the end, but then, most stories of that type end with the dealmaker weaseling out of his end of the bargain; older tales were meant to be cautionary, you deal with the devil, you pay the price. Grimmification - the Brothers Grimm were the cultural revisionists of THEIR time (for instance, the Red Riding Hood never had a huntsman to save her from the "wolf", because "wolf" originally referred to bandits and murderers etc who hid in the woods away from getting lynched by the townsfolk they preyed upon. The story makes a lot more sense once you tell it the ORIGINAL way. RR just gets murdered and eaten by a cannibal she made the mistake of talking to in the woods (and there were a lot of them in medieval times) ... after being warned not to speak to anyone she meets on a forest path ... The Merry Men are some kind of leftist invention, or so I've come to suspect.)
Anyway, yeah, bleah. I can see them going the "Ursula was misunderstood" route. Bleah.
Produced by Wild Canary, Disney Junior's Ariel boasts a talented team, including executive producer Lynne Southerland, producer Kuni Tomita Bowen, and Chrystin Garland of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. In recognizing the cultural significance of the setting, the production team has engaged Dr. Patricia Saunders for cultural supervision and Sean Skeete for consultation on Caribbean music. This collaborative effort aims to provide a nuanced and respectful depiction of Caribbean heritage.
So only black people and women are involved? For...cultural significance of the setting?
I guarantee you Caribbean citizens will be pissed to be called “black”. Again, it shows that these people only see two colors: African Black and non-black.
Gotta be culturally sensitive for the portrayal of Caribbean music, but fuck the Europeans that created it. Everybody knows that white people don't have any culture.
I watched an episode of a Netflix show ( why did I bother... ) after recomendation, about some dystopian private server game where a developper used DNA sample to ''clone'' people in his game... with all their memories, ( because stupid author I guess. ).
Noticing the Netflix logo, I had fun correctly identifying who the bad people would be : the White male characters.
The girlboss leading the opressed to freedom ( yes, really ) had her one major fuck-up consequence fixed for no good reason other than forced happy ending. Or maby they just really wanted the Black female character in the final shots.
If you're curious, it's Black Mirror : USS Callister easy to find on streaming websites.
It could have been good if they scapped the retarded ''DNA sample makes a virtual copy of the donor's memory/personality'', without the diversity telling you how it would go and end, and slightly less heavy-handed ''we're telling you this is dumb'' writing on the missions.
USS Callistee episode could’ve been good minus the girlboss and lecturing. Of course the white guy has to be evil and the way it craps on classic sci-fi. Then came San junipero where the critics couldn’t stop gushing over an episode due to it having two lesbians. It won multiple awards when the episode about social credit scores was much better
That generic mobile game aesthetic is almost as cancerous as calarts beanmouth animation. (steven universe)
It's the 3d version of the same.

Ursala is trans, so they gotta make her non threatening.

Of a Danish folk tale, yes.
Because they are anti-White racists.

Yeah, but there was a bit of calypso music in the 90s cartoon, so now the niggers own it or some shit.
Black people doing what they do best, stealing shit from white people.
Drowns.
I was trying to figure out if this was satire, but I don't think it is.
Of course. Interesting how they don’t see how all the obsession with race swaps and diversity have made everything look exactly the same

So, he lives on the ocean floor and he has a dark brown tan...
we waz merkangs an shiz
I thought black characters weren't allowed to be evil because 'dats rayceest'
The goal, as always, is to destroy the cultural significance of anything remotely positive about Whites men, tradition, and Western civilization.
That could have called it "World of The Little Mermaid" and expanded the universe to include and uimited number of different merfolk.
