Sophie Holland originally wanted to be an actor, but says it didn’t work out for many reasons. “Not least of all, I was probably terrible,” she says with a laugh. “But I love the industry so much and somebody said to me, ‘If you want money, you should be an agent. And if you want power, you should be a casting director.’”

Imagine the total lack of self control and intelligence to say this during a fucking interview.

She left out "being really weird looking" as one of the reasons it didn't work out. Makes her choice in female actresses for the witcher make more sense.

“The power of casting to change people’s perceptions”

By tanking the casting of each show to the point that the only good casting decisions weren’t made by you?

You only need to hear something once to know that it's a good idea. Propaganda needs to be repeated constantly, throughout a person's entire life, in order to sink in.

You could just write original works with minorities involved, there's plenty of historical events and figures to work from (though if in Africa it'd shatter the narrative of 'white man came an enslaved us')

Or just do what Japan does and make something that's like another work but has a twist, I've had two different magic school animes this year alone. You can easily do something like that based in Africa and have something with a witch doctor of something.

You could just write original works

But then there is no existing audience to parasitise off and propagandise to. Building a brand takes time and money these leeches don't want to put the effort in for.

no existing audience to parasitise off and propagandise to.

The past 8 years has shown that's no longer the case to even the normies know better. Just look at Disney, a company built off franchises and nostalgia and that's making the hindenberg disaster look like a campfire.

Disney cast Gal Gadot as the wicked witch, and a snow white that can't compete as the fairest of even those two. Add skipping dwarfs... They must be high as shit.

After they did race bingo for The Little Mermaid. They're high on something.

Maybe it's my cynical personality but that's ineffective on me, "oh no they ruined a franchise, I'll have to submit to their demands because I'm so blackpilled" is what they want from me but in reality they get "huh they fucked up a new iteration of thing i like, hope they enjoy wasting money, I got the originals idiots"

It's interesting having adult children that dislike what I dislike. I get to hear that in most cases no one likes the thing, but it's still being promoted because of tits and ass. ( Ice Spice is getting all the hate today because she made #50 in a top NY rap list over many many old school greats)

Yeah, at this point i'm just like: oh, you brought back this franchise just to shit on it? Lol, that's so petty. I'll just ignore it

I’d be interested to see a legit mini series about a pre colonial African kingdom that accurately showed them utilizing slavery as well as conquering neighboring tribes which happened frequently I imagine

Why not discover the power of writing your own stories with all the diversity you want.

nobody wants you "changing their perceptions", they want good entertainment and you've denied them that.

Oh yes, the power! The power to destroy anything that was extremely popular and leave it a corpse.
