Really I think that's Elon's goal here. He wants either SF governance to change or the building owner to kick him out at which time he'll move the company to Austin and lock the SF owner in a wrongful eviction lawsuit until they settle on agreeable terms.

The US government has basically herded us into this hellscape where we don't know our neighbors -- and they don't respect their own property (because it was probably given to them or government subsidized). Why in the hell would they respect yours? Why the hell should you respect theirs?
Some of these complaints might be unfounded, but a giant, bright sign like that can be very obnoxious and bad for the eyes, especially if it has PWM flicker.
