We will start to see fat Russians in no time, they are shooting themselves on the foot, this was a missed opportunity for Russians to promote home made food instead of fast food. Processed, high in calories, saturated fat, sugary, and tasteless.
You are free to not eat there.
Besides, haven't you ever had a rough day and you went "damn it, I want something NOW"?
You are free to do that too.
That's every work day for me.
Ah shit, that explains a lot.
It's quite the temptation to resist, yeah.
Definitely not something you should eat every single day, even if Super Size Me was completely fraudulent.
Just develop a crippling allergy to glyphosate and you'll never have to worry about the temptation to eat it again.
Personally I like to eat McDonald's about twice a year. Sometimes you just want some junk food.
I doubt it'll be an issue for one key difference compared to the most of the world: Russia is cold as fuck!
You're talking about certain parts of their country, mostly siberia where if you're engine fails on one of those long roads, you're dead unless you find shelter quick. There are parts of that country where having a bit of extra fat isn't a liability but an advantage.
Unfortunately that is not how it works, obesity is considered and illness all over the World, in the USA, Russia, Somalia, etc, in addition, it is not only about the calories but perhaps even more important que quality of the food, processed food has too much salt, sugars and unnatural elements that in the long term cause diabetes and cancer. Food made in factories can never compete with fruit or food cooked at home, like you actually placing real fish in the oven and cooking it. I mentioned the oven because it is usually healthier than frying.
Excess salt isn't bad for you as long as you have functional kidneys. The connection to hypertension isn't based on real science. South Koreans eat twice the salt on average as Americans and have much less hypertension. Prior to refrigeration Europeans ate ten times the salt as Americans currently do and less hypertension. It's the refined sugar and HFCS and the carbs in general and seed oils. If this chain starts using tallow to make their fries I'll move to Russia.
McDs has been popular in Russia for a while. I think you're overestimating how often people are eating there. Naturally a Russia Today article would hype it up.
