At this point I am convinced that Trump is a pied Piper president, as stated in the Clinton emails back in 2016. My guess is the plan was for him to gain the presidency, corral all the dissidents together, and do a whole bunch of nothing for 4 years so that any dissident favoring gains he made can be easily walked back. COVID would be the end game for this plan, but they didn't count on DeSantis and now they don't know what to do.

I'm trying to give the guy the benefit of the doubt but that was really out of Left field. You can certainly have that opinion, but you need to back it up. If your answer is IT'S OBVIOUS or EVERYONE WATCHING SAID HE LOST, that says more about you.
Personally I think Trump did great in the first one and was too subdued and non-combative in the second one, after they had threatened to cut his mic at any moment beforehand. He would have excelled in the third debate on foreign policy that Joe cancelled.
The whole debate format and letting some "journalist" pick questions and moderate is ridiculous. They need to do a roundtable online - like a podcast where guests are just shooting the shit - and ask each other their own questions. I don't even mind if they share the questions with one another first as long as they are questions they think their voters will care about. Maybe have a host asking questions from the audience (superchats?) now and then. Let old media fucking die already.

Trump and DeSantis are both better than Biden.
