Society gave them every chance to just do drag as comedy, put on “clean” shows in drag, make raunchy drag shows 18+, etc etc etc. But they wouldn’t stop kids approaching with their parents money from stuffing said money down their drag-underpants. They wouldn’t countenance the idea that some jokes, acts, performances should be kept to adult audiences. We have film of what they do, there’s no denying it. All they have to do under this law is divide raunchy drag shows from kid-appropriate performance, this isn’t a ban on drag generally. But for some reason, that upsets them, which tells us all we really need to know.
