Also: he was never in the air force. He is a political appointee. He graduated law school in 2005, worked in private practice for 3 years, then became an Obama appointee in 2009, swapped out to think tanks during the Trump admin, then right back in.
Frankly, I'm all for it. Make the military weak. It just makes things easier when they inevitably start kicking doors and pointing guns to enslave you.

Know why they don’t use ankle socks with combat boots? Because your ankles will look more like chewed leather than the boots after being broken in. I used to have to double up tube socks when breaking in a new pair and still have scars on the back of my ankles.
Probably the PT uniform, although why anyone would buy issue socks after boot camp is a mystery.
Dress uniforms have a different pair of socks that aren’t nearly as tall as tube socks, nor is there a reason to waste time on making standard issue “ankle dress socks” when someone could just buy their own

Would it be controversial if I said America needs to lose a war? Not a war vs guerillas battle by attrition type thing, but a straight up conventional war against another country. My cracked out thought is the American Empire wouldn't be so decadent and vain if they realised they aren't the military hegemon.

This is the air force & appointees, I doubt it was force-wide and probably was just for some office or base this guy is at, which is filled with civilian appointees & overwhelmingly women & LGBTs and other box checkers like him, who probably spend half the day playing tennis and the other half having "meetings" about DEI shit.
So they don't wear boots.
