"Our performance is a protest for all the queens and transgender youth whose lives were lost for doing exactly what we are doing," a student drag performer told the audience, later introducing the "queens" about to perform.

Not the brightest kid, now they can't claim it was educational. Bring on the civil suits if any of the parents have the balls.

The hyperbole of these people is ridiculous. “My life is threatened because I don’t get 100% affirmation”.

I would call it womanly histrionics, but it's exaggerated even beyond satire.

a protest? are you trying to convince people that whatever the number of dead groomers you're going to make up isn't a high enough body count?

The only surprising thing here is that students the students actually attended the "mandatory" assembly. With the exception of the very first assembly my freshman year I skipped every single one despite them being "mandatory". I went as far as sneaking off when my biology teacher tried to walk us to one of those cock sucker conventions. I even got my mom to pick me up when I assured her that there was no way I would get caught ditching. I learned a good life lesson: Things are only mandatory if there are real consequences from disregarding the mandate.

This was probably REALLY mandatory.

Your high school sounds way different than mine.

To be fair, sneaking off usually only worked because the majority of the student body ended up attending these things.

It actually is funny how the arbitrarily strict nature of these things, and other random situations in public schooling, actually offer a good life lesson on what kinds of dystopian things to watch out for.

Then again, normal kids get time out of class and get to ridicule the fags mercilessly among themselves, much like we would mock cheerleaders at pep rallies back in my day.

"That's gay" is a substitute for "that's idiotic" for good reason.

It never fails. Look at the moms who are against this, versus the activist - it's not even mentioned if she's a parent of a student - who is for this. The activist looks exactly like you're imaging; ugly, fat, whiny, and complete with problem glasses.

Is this the part where they say why are you noticing or that will the gaslight and say that drag has always been in schools. Similar to comics have always been woke

We have to start dragging these school administrators into the street and executing them.

There's only so much grooming that can be done in the classroom.

This is actually not new at all. In the US, during the 90's and early 2000's there was the Gay Straight Alliance. Don't remember them being especially big or active, locally anyway, but they existed and were a sparsely widespread thing.
