Seth Rogen. Enough said. Maybe he will prove me wrong but knowing he is involved makes me not want to watch. I watched the original TMNT and had the comic book with the cassette tape to go along with it. Went to the first movie when it came out with my best friend and it was an awesome experience

He'll show his acting chops by giving us a pothead version of Bebop.

The first movie was in fact really good. It was very hard to operate those costumes and the martial arts stunts were also very realistic. They nailed that movie perfectly.

Agreed! Plus seeing it as a kid makes it even more special for me.

April O’Neil

There’s no mistaking those strong Irish features, lol. Least the turtles won’t have to look too far to figure out who committed the crime

I’m sure they’ll make Casey Jones a trans woman to balance things out.

LMAO! It's not even a meme anymore, it's just reality.

It was never a meme, it's completely deliberate.

Goddamn does the left hate redheads! What did the Irish do to them to deserve such hatred?

I'm tired of Jackie Chan being used for Japanese characters. I learned Chinese to watch his movies. I learned Japanese to watch Sentai and don't laugh.

I grew up watching Chinese Garrett Wang play Korean Harry Kim on Star Trek Voyager, and Korean Linda Park play Japanese Hoshi Sato on Star Trek Enterprise.

I can't judge in that sense. If it works...

EDIT: For that matter, American LeVar Burton playing Somalian Geordi LaForge. Did you have any idea that character was supposed to be Somali? I just learned that last week!

What in the kunta kinte... He's Somali!?

Yeah, the character was born in Mogadishu.

It's just that Burton never bothered with the accent, unlike when Canadian James Doohan played the Scottish...Montgomery Scott.

At least Doohan tried. I mean yeah, Shrek sounds more Scottish.

Maybe it's Geordie's accent after the translator.

Heh, that theory. The one that says Picard is actually speaking French, but it sounds like Patrick Stewart after it's run through the universal translator.

The reality is, Stewart admits he can't do a French accent--he tried at a con once, it sounded real silly. I don't blame him.

I can blame him for the atrocious Star Trek Picard, though.

I loved the episode where he visits home and half his family sounds English.

The live-action re-designs were cornball cringe. Seth Rogen's feminist-diversity racket will sour the entire thing. And Jackie Chan still has trouble with English, after all this time. Why would they hire him as a voice actor for Splinter?

Also, he's a lickspittle for the PRC.

None of the cast members have any charisma. They're all wet towels found in a men's locker room.

Is the author honestly excited, or stuffing as much snark as the article can fit without being obviously disrespectful?

For example, when discussing the film title, the line "...the word "mutant" is in it two times!" feels more like a snide remark than actual hype. The Mondo Gecko comments also remind me of an inside joke/reference that is being used to mock those who get it rather than a shared joy of niche fandom knowledge.

Either way, Seth Rogen tends to defile anything he touches, so I have little to no hope for this movie being something worth watching.

If it's animated, I don't mind these choices. In voiceover, it shouldn't matter what you look like.

If it's live-action, then fuck 'em.

EDIT: I take it back, they're likely race-swapping April again. Baxter Stockman would get a pass because, believe it or not, he was black in the original Mirage comics. But not April.
