Does everyone remember the 'Low Flow Toilet' episode of King of the Hill?

This is basically that. A bullshit energy grift that they all have their fingers in the pie while they keep their own gas appliances.

you gonna pay for my lawn mower? no? then fuck off, democrat.

This is quite the unfair deal. Letting them pay for your lawnmower is a one-time payment, when compared to the work put into lawn management over time, becomes insufficient over a long period of time.

I recommend making them cut the grass with their teeth - any democrat who refuses gets stuffed feet first in a wood chipper.

Lately, Minnesota has been trying their best to become worse than California.

Their cost of living is getting close, less tent cities though. Guess the homeless don't want to freeze to death.

They didn't mention snow-blowers. I can only hope that was just an oversight when copying California.

It does say "any machine" under 25 horsepower. My two stage is only 10hp. Although, 30hp snowblower would make short work of clearing the driveway and sidewalk.

Good luck using those shitty snowbrooms to move a foot of snow!

20 KW motor sales going up in 3... 2... 1...

Would include any machine that uses 'a spark ignition engine rated at or below 19kW or 25 gross hp.'"

below 19kW / 25 hp

I'm not even American and I know the easiest, and most American solution to this...

There will be thousands of Minnesotans tinkering in their shop to build their 30hp snowblower.

Although the better option is thousands of Minnesotans browbeating the incompetent retards who even proposed this bullshit.

I'm gonna go against the grain here and say that I don't mind the lawnmower one. Gas lawnmowers are loud as fuck, really heavy, and completely unnecessary. It's grass. You don't need a gas-powered monster to cut it. I have an electric mower and I'd never go back. I can mow my lawn in half the time because it weighs nothing, and I can have a conversation while I do it.

I will, however, die on the hill of gas snowblowers. I tried my best to like the electric ones, but they're simply not capable of moving thousands of pounds of snow at a time. And where I live, that's a mandatory feature.

Yup. I got a Toro eSuper Recycler. It's amazing. Quiet, no engine maintenance, no getting gas, able to cut my ~1/3 acre of grass no problem. I will never buy another gas model, and yeah, the emissions are bad too.

Fuck leafblowers. I wish they were just banned period. If we lived in a society, like Switzerland that had social standards and cohesion, it wouldn't be a problem. My old neighbors would leaf blow every morning for ~2 months. Including when we had two brand new infants (years apart). Including on Christmas morning. Etc. I would have no problem if people limited their loudass leafblowers and small engines to certain limits hours of the day.

Electric snowblowers do not seem like the tech is ready.

I have an electric leaf blower, but it's barely quieter than a gas one. Kind of the nature of a machine that exists to create powerful, high pressure air currents. But I'm not an inconsiderate asshole so I only use it in the afternoon. I also only use it a few times a year. Daily use sounds like OCD.

Yeah, I have an electric leaf blower as well, and at max speed it is loud as heck. I always use earplugs. Great for cleaning out garage, walkways, deck, etc.

Old neighbors would leaf blow their entire yard if there was a single leaf anywhere on the rass. We live in a tree-filled area, and their hour borders a park with many trees. It was crazy.

Gas lawnmowers are loud as fuck

Yeah, I think you hit the nail on the head as to why they are really doing this. California did the same thing with leaf blowers not too long ago. I blame the COVID lockdowns. The Mexican lawn guys used to run their mowers and leaf blowers when people were at work. During quarantine a lot more people with influence started noticing how fucking annoying those things are and put the plans in motion to ban them.

It's something that should be a city ordinance though, not state level.

Most city parks in Minnesota have at least one outdoor skating / hockey rink. They're almost as common as baseball fields.

More zambonis than you'd think.

Even so, google reports Zambonis as having a fuel economy between 50 and 106 mpg - in other words, as good as, or better than most cars, which surely outnumber them by thousands to one.

Zamboni emissions are going to be such an infinitesimal percentage of the state's emissions that it's still ridiculous to even bring them up.
