Unless Airbnb does a truthful mea culpa and says something like:
"we are sorry, this was never allowed by our policies. one of our woke employees [name] did this and nobody stopped them, it was approved by [names] then when the backlash hit, it came to the attention of a higher executive [name] who decided to reverse the decision for [honest reasons]. The person responsible for the ban has been fired. Company policy now explicitly states that no users may be banned for guilt-by-association, and doing so improperly is a fireable offense."
then fuck em. And we all know they won't do that because everyone is covering their ass and no one will get fired. Ultimately, they aren't sorry and don't think they're wrong, they just got caught and decided to take a step back and try again later.
Yeah , about 30 minutes at $25 per hour - i.e around $12.50 of your hotel room is cleaning fee. Not $200. I haven't even stayed at a hotel that costs more than $150 a night
Not that I want to give AirBnB business advice, but if I were them I'd make the TOS for owners ban any additional required fees- things like your cleaning costs should be included in your rental price and limit additional fees & require any potential ones to be mentioned in their listing.
I am sure there is a way to make some sort of cleaning deposit instead of cleaning fee. X amount of cleaning is part of the room price, and if the deposit has to be tapped for additional then proof has to be supplied (like a security deposit almost).
My parents never appealed the decision. They’re trying to make this look like a mistake due to bad PR. It was not. They just miscalculated how far they could go. How about the truth for a change?
Update: @Airbnb tells me it was a "mistake" to ban Lauren's family members. Decision "reversed." They say Lauren is still banned, although the spokesman did not explain why. He says that's forthcoming in an email. Also he denied Jay Carney is targeting political dissidents.
The only thing they’re sorry for is negative press. “Oops my hand slipped and I tracked down a political activists parents and specifically banned them while citing association to their daughter - my bad!”
Here's a thought: it's not illegal to discriminate on the basis of political affiliation. You've got a 99.9% chance that any gays are democrat, so just say you're refusing them service on the basis of their political beliefs instead of their sexual preference.
They will just suppose that your motivation is anti-homo. You have to prove that you are not, and the only way to do that is to bake the cake. In Clown World.
Yep. Notice how even Lauren Southern herself has just fallen into the trap of suggesting AirBnB would somehow be more justified in refusing to let her find a room.
That will be the future. You're conservative? Hope you enjoy camping in a tent.
I cancelled my AirBnB account yesterday the moment I read the original story - if I did, othes must have as well. AirBnB wouldbe seeing this at the backend.
I only had ABnb on my phone because I had to stay at one last year because every single hotel was booked *and caravan park. I've never taken a rideshare of any form.
Anyways, my verdict on AirBnB is fuckem as a substitute for hotels, and there are better services for booking condos and such. Sometimes, I find these vacation rentals on one of those sites and get the name of the agency that handles the bookings. Call them and book directly, which cuts out the middleman.
Looks like Jay Carney (Obama/Clinton/DNC Minion) is their Global Head of Policy (archive link).
So that means if you're on one of the Woke Inc's many and varied shit lists he's probably either going to ban you or possibly leak any vacation location you're staying at to any interested party.
Ah yes, the "right wing" provocateur who said "feelings matter more than facts" and "emotional intelligence is important" on Tim Pool. Call it what it is, the left eating their own because the "not as left" is more publicly visible.
Airbnb "investors" are hemorrhaging money on their over leveraged properties and getting a fraction of the bookings they thought they'd get, often ZERO for a full year.

their apology won't bring me back either way. Fuck spending $200 on cleaning fees
Cleaning fees are set by the property owners, not AirBnB.
Well I don't pay cleaning fees at hotels
I mean, you do. They're baked into the price of the room.

That's not my point, just that you pay a fee
Find me a hotel that charges $200 for a night.

So if I can't refuse to bake them a cake because they are a faggot, can I refuse to bake them a cake because they associate with other faggots?

It won't be much longer before public outcry and mass account closures stop working on these people, but it's nice that it worked this time.

Just become a heroin addict and the government will let you sleep wherever you want, apparently.

I use Uber, but not around home.

Needless to say. Don't use Airbnb.

Mouthpieces that make money from their mouths are lazy grifters. Change my mind.

Fuck them, don't spend any money on them.
funny how mistakes always happens to people on the right.. hmmm
Man, a lot of million dollar companies making "mistakes" lately. Netflix. Paypal. AirBnB. Really weird.
