I cancelled my AirBnB account yesterday the moment I read the original story - if I did, othes must have as well. AirBnB wouldbe seeing this at the backend.
You are about 3 years or more too late, they have been banning the accounts of dissident right wing people for at least that long. Each and everyone associated with the Unite the Right rally, for example, every one that was identified as attending, they ALL had their AirBnB accounts terminated.
They are just one more in the list of online services that ban politically disfavored people. Wordpress blog hosting, shopify, GoDaddy, Twitter, FaceBook, PayPal, Blogspot (owned by google), the list of companies that have terminated dissident accounts is long.
Personally, I never saw the appeal of AirBnB. Hotels exist, use them.
I say the same thing about Uber and Lyft, too. If I want to go somewhere, I drive myself. I've had a car since I was 16.
I only had ABnb on my phone because I had to stay at one last year because every single hotel was booked *and caravan park. I've never taken a rideshare of any form.
Anyways, my verdict on AirBnB is fuckem as a substitute for hotels, and there are better services for booking condos and such. Sometimes, I find these vacation rentals on one of those sites and get the name of the agency that handles the bookings. Call them and book directly, which cuts out the middleman.

I use Uber, but not around home.
