PC Gamer is a garbage site. I don’t think I’ve ever read a review of theirs where they can’t shut up about some talking point and simply review the game. Rowling is being attacked for believing that men are not women which was a normal statement for eons til these weirdos gained influence.
If I ran one of these gaming magazines or sites I’d fire these journalists and tell them to apply for msnbc

All of the reviews are going to be ChatGPT style moralizing paragraphs of whiny nonsense about transphobia, followed by a couple sentences where they say "but as it turns out, the game is actually a lot of fun".

Remember the Colonel? He used to write about Grognards for the magazine in the 90's. I loved that section, and how he showed his love of those games. Every time I see a game with even a hint of that style, I think of him.

PC gamer used to be THE sophisticated gaming mag. I can't believe how far they've fallen.
I remember the demo discs and how they were specially chosen. There were demos, mods, and an updated database of game reviews.
See, I'm not hoping the game is bad because I hate rowling. I hope the game is bad because, much like the last of us tv series, I'm under the impression they approached it incorrectly and did the wrong genre. While MMO's aren't as popular as before, having one in their wizard world could've gained a giant playerbase and filled the void that blizzard will leave once their company goes bankrupt in the next year.
MMOs ruined PC RPGs for a decade IMO and I'm glad they're dying.
World of Warcraft was an incredibly fun game that did so much damage to gaming as a concept that almost 20 years later it's clear we're never going to really recover.
Everyone's short sighted about this. MMOs will be great again, but it probably won't happen until VR tech takes off as a standard. As in people don't buy TVs anymore because everyone uses VR for all digital entertainment.
Basically we're waiting for the SAO or Oasis era.

She'd prefer if the revolution stopped with her at the top of DIE totem pole and went no further. I have no sympathy for her but this isn't some 16D chess ultimate marketing campaign. I don't care about harry potter or this game, it's just infuriating to me that every fucking thing in the world has to relate back to progressive garbage. There's nowhere to run away from the poz.
Retro vidya is pretty carefree in this regard. I just dont consume entertainment made after 2014 or so. I only learn about this stuff from reading complaints about it
Who's "they" that's all in on it? Astroturf campaigns are directed by armies of bots and a few well placed influencers. Woke NPCs just eat up the hate and pass it on.
I do believe there was a reverse psychology marketing campaign, but the people on the left were just useful pawns.
