Tech Layoffs Are Hitting Diversity and Inclusion Jobs Hard
A bit of good news.

That's good, but there are plenty of diversity hires already in place and I don't see anyone having the balls to cut those even when they objectively underperform.
And then there's the insanely bloated middle management and various "auxiliary" roles like "scrum masters", "agile practitioners", "developer evangelists", and other assorted bullshit. Those desperately needed culling half a decade ago.
Elon Musk did.
His Twitter takeover was a mixed positive. Censorship receeded, but remains a problem.
scrum master is fine, as it's a well defined set of responsibilities. but it's not a whole job. traditionally either:
the second bullet is something to be weary of though because often people try to get away with just being a status updater in middle management, not actually doing real product/project management. that shit needs to get snuffed out.
I’ve grown to despise the term “underrepresented”. These people have no self respect. You should want to be hired due to your skills.
Not if you have no skill
it's a place of business, not congress. what is this "representation" horseshit?
Honestly some manager with guts needs to say that
luxury beliefs are the first to go when the belt tightens
but its going to get a lot worse the rot can truly be cut out
The prospect of having fewer non-whites in my industry is heartening. The best environments I've worked in have always been overwhelmingly staffed by white men.
Is not that they no longer care about diversity. They will further discriminate against white and asian men, as always. Lets not forget that discrimination was in full power even before DIE, it was done via HR.
The difference is that the DIE will not pester people with propaganda. That is not even good, the more people were exposed to DIE the more they were getting red pilled.
There is a reason why company loyalty is in the shitter and it is good.
Now we can go back at burring ourselves in work, pretend everything is fine while the industry still hates us.
Diversity staff falls under the recruitment umbrella. When layoffs happen and a general reduction of staff then the staff that is required to recruit people is also cut.
What are they doing at their job? Not hire anyone, because company wants less new people?
Until we start seeing women filing frivolous lawsuits like at Twitter, I wouldn't believe it.
Better late than never I suppose
Maybe the more a business tries to grow profitable, the less likely it is to adopt or retain DIE policies and their requisite bureaucratic enforcers.
Seems like common sense.
