So he self censors to abide by the chilling political correctness of today, and this is a good thing because…?
Anyways, the best games now come from small and medium sized teams of mostly white/Asian male devs. The moment a team becomes large enough to attract diversity enforcers, it’s over; hiring quotas force you to dilute your team with leftist activists who will destroy your product in the name of progress.
I think the second one only survives because it took so long. Otherwise it would be very woke with their two Gays being Paragons of Virtue instead of a Broken Shambles of an Alcoholic and the other being Jack Black.
Tim Schafer has been dumb his entire career and has made a ton of ok games. I’ve liked a lot of games he’s worked on well enough pre 2014 where i didn’t feel like I was ripped off but not so much that I’ve ever recommended them to anyone other than brutal legend, and that was because of the music the game play was just ok. Double fine could could literally have the slogan we make average stuff at best.
Tim Schafer went full Anita Sarkeesian during gamergate, resulting in the absolute pile of trash that was Broken Age Part 2 (which was nothing but terribly written woke propaganda). I assume everything else coming out of his useless, trash-tier studio is similar these days.
The problem with the theory of "old games wouldn't fly in today's culture", is... Older games are better. Generally speaking. Especially when it comes to writing. So that isn't exactly a point in his favor.
Political correctness never makes any art better. Only a worthless hack would say it does.
I don't care if you think making a 'caring' game is better than one with unrestrained humor, if you had to self censor because of outside pressure it's already less than it should have been.
He has to tell himself that everything before CURRENT YEAR was mean spirited and horrible because that's the only way to quiet the cognitive dissonance that tells him what a sellout he is. He knows it isn't true. This is pure cope, manifesting as moral grandstanding
people will criticise that and say ‘woke culture, PC police’ and stuff – but for any art, I’m thinking about how my art will be interpreted by the viewer.
Bullshit Tim. This just means you can't make anyone uncomfortable and the habitually offended are dictating the path of your game. Your 'comedy' will be surface level fluff at best. You have failed.
If these ESG/DIE brownnoser types ran the show way back when we wouldn't even have Mario bros. It would have been "Jumpperson" and the majority of the cart's storage would have been occupied by various 8bit outfits, hairstyles, and unspecified secondary sexual characteristics.
Bobby Kotick of all people was right about Tim Schaefer.
"I've never met him in my life – I've never had anything to do with him. I never had any involvement in the Vivendi project that they were doing, Brütal Legend, other than I was in one meeting where the guys looked at it and said, 'He's late, he's missed every milestone, he's overspent the budget and it doesn't seem like a good game. We're going to cancel it.'
"And do you know what? That seemed like a sensible thing to do. And it turns out, he was late, he missed every milestone, the game was not a particularly good game..."
Lucas Arts made more non Star Wars games than Star Wars games, and this was way before the Disney acquisition. Schafer founded double fine and has been there ever since. Squanch games did high on life and one of the Rick and Morty Guys is the key figure behind that.
schafer is a loser with a small company that hasn't made a noteworthy game in a long time and got bailed out by MSFT.

Wasn't the original Psychonauts the last thing from him that was actually good?
Some people swear by Brütal Legend, but otherwise: yeah.
Brutal Legend was a bunch of interesting ideas mixed up in a repetitive, poorly-executed mess.
Meh, I'm ok with the cut off being Full Throttle.
When Punks were punks, Men were men, and Tomboys were still desirable girls.
Psychonauts 1 is a very good game.
I think the second one only survives because it took so long. Otherwise it would be very woke with their two Gays being Paragons of Virtue instead of a Broken Shambles of an Alcoholic and the other being Jack Black.
I stopped abandoned the second one. It wasn't the same.
I’ve refused to buy anything by his studio since he got on stage with a sock puppet.
I'm pretty sure I've never played one of his games.
You are not missing anything. They are mediocre at best.

Too bad, b/c Grim Fandango was good shit.
you prove your own statement wrong.

Homogeneous blob of a man advocates for media to become Homogeneous blob
I thought that said Tim Sweeney, I was about to be disappointed.
Why is a guy who made one straight to Game Pass pile of shit (two? Psychonauts + High On Life?) even relevant?
He didn’t work on high on life. But he made a name for himself at LucasArts working there for about a decade.
Soy Wars? That would explain why I never heard of him. I've never been big into
SoyStar Wars.I thought he did work on High On Life. It vaguely reminds me of Psychonauts 2, the game Microsoft made people play for reward points.
How are you this ignorant?

You are seriously the normiest of normie gamers.
