After just having seen some faggot throwaway posting literal gay porn, enough is enough.
Can the mods here configure the sub like reddit where new users can't make posts until they meet some account age/karma requirements?

Can we petition to stop Californians from posting
I asked about this and offered to help with it over a year ago.
Edit: Checking my DMs I actually offered to help with this again 3 months ago. I'm not even looking for full mod controls just the ability to
move stair muffinsclean up the board where/as needed like with the fact there is literal porn 2 and a half hours ago still up in New.Give me Rules 5, 10, and 14 and that would probably be enough to deal with most of the spam currently happening.
There is some sort of global filter, but not sure how it is configured,Also I think the access control is quite limited so you would probably almost get full access or none. The removal of spam could be automated through external code to some extent, Would be a bot which would help with covering the timezones where none is online.
Evidently not in any way that it stops literal porn being posted as per the now 5 hours old thread that is still up.
Alternatively just 2 or 3 users that aren't completely shitheads could help with this. As long as they have limited functionality they shouldn't be able to break anything and all actions taken would show up in the /logs for auditing purposes if needed.
I'd do it on the condition I only have to whack the handshake troon. None of the rule 2 or rule 16 retardation. But Dom doesn't like me very much so it's a nonstarter lol.
Just make me a mod.
I'll allow only the right kinds of porn.
2D or 3D?
I'd say not being "just like reddit" is one of the reasons most of us are here.
That's like saying you don't want your city to have a sewer system because NYC has one.
NYC is a sewer system.
I'm already enforcing a kind of waiting limit on new users posting. If they are new to the sub, and posting new material, with no comment history in the sub, I'll typically remove the post because they are typically shilling as a handshake. If they comment for a while, then they can post normally.
This was actually suggested by several of you many months ago.
Dom, why the fuck are these still up after you've not only been posting but also doing actual moderation as per the /logs tab?

There's also now a third one that has been posted a few hours after your last activity

I know I've reported these myself for rule 5.
I hadn't seen them. That's my bad.
Yeah. Plus, even if we wanted to do what OP suggests - .win/Scored doesn't actually have a setting to do that automatically, does it? Someone would have to run a bot with mod rights, an external bot, not like automod on peddit.
Frankly, I think your quick removal is pure happenstance.
I think that's an admin u/C concern, as it's just how the site works.
you have to do that manually though don't you? I'm talking about something automatic. does this site not let you do that?
We don't need more rules we need to enforce the ones we have on the books already
it's not possible for mods to be standing guard 24/7. Filtering posts from new accounts or ones without a karma threshold is an easy solution to stop spammers.
There's a handshake icon?
/u/DomitiusOfMassilia
I like it when the OP has a handshake so I know to be suspicious of the thread.
It's tricky as you get idiots like these but you'll have people like me who were a long time lurker but when a certain topic came up finally joined in and contributed.
Other than having someone who isn't going to go nuts in a bad way join as a mod, can't think of any solution that doesn't come with pitfalls.
Except many are just throwaway handshakes that make zero effort to bother checking if a story has already been posted as I pointed out with this post on top of said handshakes having zero other interaction on the board.

Spamming stories is certainly one issue but dumping links and making zero comments on things, or even replying to others, just makes it feel like someone is trying to push an agenda and get around being attached to previous post history and/or posting limits.
It's happened before like with a user called Refren over a year ago who after spamming the board for days was banned then just made throwaways to keep doing so. It was retardedly easy to spot however because they were still using the Refren username to post the exact same links and titles to other boards.
Edit
Here's another one doing the exact same thing.

I'm not talking about comments, only topic posts.
Generally real people begin by making comments 1st, not posts. Spammers and trolls, on the other hand, focus on posts, not comments.
True but isn't it in the rules that you're not meant to post topics till you lose the handshake? I didn't make my first topic post till I lost mine, plus didn't have anything worth posting and it just coincided.
I swear that was in the rule list but can't remember.
Petition to ban you from making posts.
unfortunately these throwaways just get made to make 1 post so blocking/banning doesn't make any difference.
