Remember that Ukraine is a country with a very low birth-rate. It's not like Afghanistan or Iraq where people have a lot of kids and they can afford to have half of them be killed. Sacrificing an entire generation on the altar of American imperialism and Western hegemony is tragic, and Ukraine certainly isn't getting the long end of this bargain.
