I'll just say it, I have 0 hopes that Republicans will do anything about the raid on Mar-A-Lago.

If they take the house, senate in November and the presidency in 2024 they will do nothing. No major change in FBI, no change to the legal system, nothing. All it will take is CNN to call them fascists a couple of times and they will cuck out.

What do you mean "do nothing"!? When have Republicans ever been ones to just let things like this slide? They will have an investigation and maybe even form a congressional committee. After that, they'll tut-tut or even wag a finger or two! Would YOU want to be on the receiving-end of that? Didn't think so....

Florida has deepwater ports and is accepting freight traffic. That's a pretty solid ace in their hand at the moment.

I’m not fine with more taxes, it if it’s pay more taxes and they will actually arrest the feds, I’d do it. But it would have to be a sure 100% guarantee feds will be behind bars in Florida prison and they would not be released when asked. I don’t see that ever happening though.

Have the state start collecting federal taxes and only forward their state's share of constitutionally appropriate functions for the federal government.

Florida's share of national defense. Florida's share of administering the federal courts. That's about it. Send the rest back to the taxpayers.

The truth few want to hear.

This entire .win network has been painfully predictable lately. Summed up as: something outrageous happens that demands action, people comment about how awful that thing is, everyone shakes their fist at everyone else over how nobody's doing anything.

When someone does do something, it's the most effete response imaginable.

Nothing will change until things get much, much worse.

I have arrived at this conclusion as well. I fear that while the Right may have a better moral framework, it lacks the will and the wit to do anything with it. Meanwhile the Left is evil and willing to act on it, which will gain them power and influence.

I would suggest that when the Right fails to act, they need to be openly and mercilessly derided for cowardice, because that is something within their moral framework that may yet motivate them. Dunno if any of the current politicians fall into that category, but I think rallying the right with a call to be courageous might prove a more effective approach than scolding our current politicians or pearl clutching about the evils of the Left.

Thanks to the gross mismanagement of California, Florida is better port to go to even if it means you have to travel through the Panama Canal. Their transportation network isn't constantly being raided by thieves, they have more stability than other states and have the natural advantage of Florida, no one wants to invade Florida.

So if if this goes through and they sever all ties, this will be literally the first Domino to fall as the agencies NEED Florida more than Florida needs them.

The biggest F U a state could give to federal law enforcement is banning state cooperation with any federal law enforcement. The feds rely heavily upon states because they don’t have enough manpower to do it all themselves. And then go one step further and say that states will refuse to enforce federal laws. (Maybe make an exception for immigration laws.)

A side effect of this is that it’d legalize all firearms in the state not prohibited by state law.

If they actually do this, holy shit. I've been saying states should do exactly this for years. If one actually did...I don't even know, man!

Any FBI agent conducting law enforcement functions outside the purview of our State should be arrested upon sight

Well at least Fort Sumter is in a different state...

States can't actually do this, at least not without seceding. States can refuse to cooperate with the feds (which is what blue states do with sanctuary cities refusing to help immigration enforcement, do you really agree with that? because I don't) but they can't just arrest FBI agents on sight.

This is a dumb fucking thing to go into a civil war over, and anyone stupid enough to try at this stage would lose.

Be smart and use this to gain electoral advantage to win elections, and then once you're in power, change the rules. OR just don't listen to me and cry on the internet instead, because that will totally make a difference.

States can't actually do this, at least not without seceding.

Sure they can. Sheriff spots fed. Cuffs him, throws him in the county jail. Charges him with trespass and a slew of other state crimes for unlawful detainment and lets the lawyers deal with it.

This is a dumb fucking thing to go into a civil war over

The Executive branch being high jacked and used as a tool of suppression against dissent is literally the BEST reason to go into a Civil war over.

This is a dumb fucking thing to go into a civil war over

Most blowups of any kind are started over dumb fucking things. Billions of dollars in rioting and violence happened over a single junkie ODing in a cop's custody, something that happens multiple times a day all over the nation.
