If republicucks were serious, which they aren't, this is a great opportunity for some Machiavellian spring boarding. All these companies declaring they will pay for their employees to travel for abortions should have their assets in those states seized and all the executives brought in by the feds on RICO. They are defintionally criminal enterprises. None of this will happen, particularly because the enforcement agencies won't cooperate, but a ourguy president now has carte blanche to crush the oligarchy.
When they say "My Body My Choice", they're being literal. They believe only they (and their father, the government) should have any medical say in what people do to their bodies.
Note how its never "Your Body, Your Choice", because they are totalitarians.
a) Abortion is not illegal in any state yet (and I doubt it will ever be entirely illegal). Even with the Missouri law that people keep spamming, if you actually look at it it, abortion is still legal if there is a medical reason for it. What gets banned is elective abortion.
The law makes no exception for rape or incest. Its only exceptions are for medical emergencies that threaten the life of the pregnant person or “create a serious risk of substantial and irreversible physical impairment of a major bodily function of the pregnant woman.”
b) If the Dobbs decision does lead to a massive scaleback in the amount of digital surveillance going on, this will be one of the best weekends ever.
I'm not sure if you're serious or just repeating the MSM talking points, but that logic is exactly why I posted the link and quote. None of those trigger laws will punish a mother from getting an abortion if her life is at risk. What they remove is the 95%+ (I don't remember the exact number, I think it's probably higher than that) of abortions which are basically used as a form of late birth control.
Don't believe me? The NYT conveniently provided links to all of those trigger laws back in May, so you can see for youself. For example, South Dakota (which is arguably the most restrictive of them)
Any person who administers to any pregnant female or who prescribes or procures for any pregnant female any medicine, drug, or substance or uses or employs any instrument or other means with intent thereby to procure an abortion, unless there is appropriate and reasonable medical judgment that performance of an abortion is necessary to preserve the life of the pregnant female, is guilty of a Class 6 felony.
I am serious and not 'repeating msm talking points'.
Honestly, terminating because of medical complications strikes me as an almost entirely separate issue, and most people or politicians seem to agree, because I have not heard of much push to stop that practice.
For the overwhelming majority of people, the abortion debate is a contraception debate centering on whether a woman has the right to terminate a pregnancy on a whim.
Correct. Essentially SCOTUS had originally interpreted RvW as being a constitutional issue and thusly abortion was included in the bill of rights. But, many experts contented that the interpretation was based on flawed reasoning. Now SCOTUS has reviewed the ruling and determined that RvW is not a constitutional issue putting the issue of abortion back in the states hands for their own legislative and judicial branches to rule and interpret.
A blue checkmark known only by their first name? Is this some pop star / actress / titty streamer I'm too out of touch to be familiar with? No. Apparently it's some big shot cybersecurity expert from the EFF. And here I was thinking the EFF was anti-authoritarian. I'm disgusted at myself for ever supporting them.
Who is doing that unprecedented digital surveillance? Is it evil alt-righters or fundies running the tech companies or government or "deep state?"
Libertarians wouldn't believe in American "Civil" Liberties anyway. That's a gayop invented by the left, because you will always need more government to grant more "civil" rights as they are magically discovered. Someone in the UK recently said access to broadband is a right. So what the hell did people do before broadband existed?

Is there a word for someone who refuses to see the drawbacks and downsides of something until it starts to affect them personally and/ or politically?
Naive.
Woman?
Here's her literally saying "invasive surveillance is okay if COVID". It's couched as "I hate government surveillance, but", but we all know what she's saying here.
I didn't even know she had posted this ahead of time. I just went into her Twitter feed armed with basic pattern recognition.

This nitpicking is why we lose.
Perfect is the enemy of good.
"We went from losing 4,000 babies a day to losing 10 a day! WHY ARE WE CELEBRATING?!?!"
Wrong. Trigger laws in 8 states made abortion illegal the instant the supreme court ruling was delivered.

The turn over of RvW hasn't made anything illegal. These people are delusional.
There were (at least 10) states that passed laws waiting for RvW to be overturned- in those states some late term abortions are now illegal
You're conflating federal and state powers. RvW is a federal issue the usurped state powers. The federal government hasn't made abortion illegal.

Hold on while I spend a couple of hours putting together a presentation for your lazy ass.
None of these people live in those states,it won't affect them but they can't leave it alone
Leftists are imperialists by nature. The world must be made civilized.
Bingo bitch. Time to be beaten with your own stick.
What's stopping some ho from identifying as a dude and having her baby killed
I wish abortion was actually made blanket illegal. Unfortunately for their offspring, liberals will still be able to abort in their own states.

Almost all of the supposed "Libertarian" NGOs were either subversives from the start (like the ACLU) or became subverted to further Authoritarianism.

To answer your rhetorical question: "Think for themselves".
