Never mind that in the past, European nobles were recognized by their unusually fair skin, from not having to work outside all day. Never mind teaching kids that bit of cultural history, just tell them lies about how the Sun Dance was in no way a torture-of-prisoners ceremony and junk like that.
If anything, that Latina ought to be playing the Queen. No. no, I won't even give her that. I take it back.
It’s going to be funny if she wears white face for the roll. I’m pretty sure even some of the songs reference how white her skin is. The premise is that she’s the prettiest girl alive because she is the whitest, and a darker Jew gets jealous and puts her to sleep until the orbiters can save her.
Oh, and just to add .... the fact that people back then equated fair skin with beauty wasn't because of "racism" or "supremacism" or crap like that. It was because of the same sort of celebrity worship that causes the hoi polloi to ape what the hollywooders do in this day and age, from stupid things like monocultural lawns and wall-to-wall carpeting right down to botox and weird fashion crazes and all the rest you see today. Humans were always like that. Chimps do it, too (see: Chimp grass ear fashion craze).
Is not racist, people liked fair skin without seeing a black person in their lives. People tend to not realize how rare it was to see a black person in Europe.
As an idea, in Germany there were exhibits to go see black people. A form of zoo for humans, horrible and disgusting but it does make a point on how rare it was to see a black person. Even now, a lot of Europeans that live in poor rural areas have not seen a black person in real life.
I think having fair skin it is also connected to being young, young people have a whiter and cleaner skin then those in their 30s, even if we stay an unhealthy amount of time indoors. And since youth is associated with fertility and we are just apes with better brains and less hair it makes sense that fair skin is considered beautiful.
Also how having a "healthy" tan went from "working class thing" (because the elites didn't have to work in the fields) to "elite thing" (because only elites have time to relax on the beach/by a pool/to afford a proper tanning salon/bed), etc...
Kinda sad when I’m surprised to see a character look like they do in the source material. Of course they will say “why does it matter” or it’s just fantasy.
Exactly. Or if the opposite were to happen where a fantasy based on Native American, African, or Asian, folklore had white people in it these same people would be complaining
Agreed. There are some stories where it makes sense to have a diverse population like if a story takes place in a major city or something but I enjoy learning the history of other cultures. So if I watch a mini series about Scandinavia in the year 800ad it kinda ruins it to have a multiracial cast for “reasons”.
Is a new age brain washing crap, I never looked at a kung-fu movie or arabian nights expecting to be represented. That is ridiculous. Even the idea of representation depends entirely on what you identify most with, You can be black and watch a movie were all the characters are black and not feel connected to any of them.
I identify more with being a father then the color of my skin, I would like more father and son stories but that does not fit the leftist skin deep diversity standards.
That was less diversifying and more One Man's Quest for his Waifu.
Because the entire history of it was James Cameron watched the OVA in the 90s, loved it so much he immediately bought the rights, and then waited for technology to improve enough to do it justice.
Which, I think is how it should be done. Actual fans of the source material attempting to adapt the work with the obvious passion being made obvious.
This has absolutely already happened, with American remakes of Asian stuff... But yeh, they haven't, umm, "reverse marketed" them, back to Asia, so much yet, so when they do, it'll be "interesting"...
This is one of the core problems with "diversity for the sake of diversity", instead of something more... Realistic, or "naturally occurring", or even likely...
This is the shit we have to deal with from leftist female "gamers" and the soyboy manchildren that simp for them.
They complain about how "unrealistic" a character's costume is. Why is she wearing a thong? Why does she have that armor on? It would hurt like hell if I wore it like that."
Bitch, there's fucking dragons, people throwing lightning and fireballs from their hands, warriors who can use their shields to block elemental attacks, and undead skeletons and you complain about realism?
It also ignores how much of a stink female soldiers in the West raised about not being allowed to pretty up, despite the obvious problems it would cause, to the point where they have slowly allowed it.
It stands for perfect realism women in those stories would be the same.
They seem to have missed all the pics of guys in harnesses and loincloths, as if that's somehow great armour. Thing is, when you have someone in full plate mail ... you can't tell what it is.
You know, when I think about it, "No White and the Seven Male-Identifying Humans of Low Height" really does have a bit of a (suitably woke) ring to it... groan
I'm still wondering how they redo the ending. I mean in their rules would not the prince be raping Snow White? Besides the fact that how is she going to be a strong woman that don't need no man? Is the prince like a black tranny now, so they get an exemption from the rules?
Ryan Gosling will now be staring in Alex Haley's Roots miniseries, with all races switched from their original, because Art is simply changing the ethnicities of everyone involved.
There’s no critics left with a public audience that can call out shit like that anymore, everyone else no longer cares and doesn’t really give a shit what the mouse does.
This is more race war rage bait to make sensible people look bad…
Judging by that picture, she actually looks like she could play the part.
That picture has been highly altered for a wallpaper desktop and is not what she looks like in the associated movie, or any other basic images searches.
Never mind WHY she was called "Snow White".
Never mind that in the past, European nobles were recognized by their unusually fair skin, from not having to work outside all day. Never mind teaching kids that bit of cultural history, just tell them lies about how the Sun Dance was in no way a torture-of-prisoners ceremony and junk like that.

Irony.
I actually enjoyed that, thanks for the suggestion
Kinda sad when I’m surprised to see a character look like they do in the source material. Of course they will say “why does it matter” or it’s just fantasy.
My answer to that:
You can believe dragons exists but having jeans is not-authentic?
Exactly. Or if the opposite were to happen where a fantasy based on Native American, African, or Asian, folklore had white people in it these same people would be complaining
I have a gut feeling that they are going to start diversifying Asian movies, specifically Korean and Japanese.
People enjoy Asian cinema and anime too much so they must ruin it
Exactly. Everything must be curated and diversified until every media is exactly the same. Only then will "diversity" be achieved.
It would be funny if it was not depressing.

There's a shitload of female feminist/Tumblrina types who are into kpop and k-drama. I'm 75% Korean, 25% Japanese, it's only inevitable.
They already have, with stuff like Alita Battle Angel and Ghost in the Shell.
Wasn't Alita pretty decent tho?
Yeah, I liked it. I was just pointing out that it's an example of "diversifying" originally Asian media.
That was less diversifying and more One Man's Quest for his Waifu.

I thought it was fine but I do not know the source material.
This has absolutely already happened, with American remakes of Asian stuff... But yeh, they haven't, umm, "reverse marketed" them, back to Asia, so much yet, so when they do, it'll be "interesting"...
The original trilogy had lots of diversity. Before the CGI "enhancements" of the 90s, even.
That cantina was about the most diverse place I've seen in my entire life outside of the Detroit Zoo.
Don't remind me of how badly they fucked things up for Finn.
Did you get hype for 10 seconds when he picked up that lightsaber? Like holy shit, he might be the next Mace Windu!
Nope - gets his ass whooped, back to MaREY Sue.
Fucking pathetic man.
This is one of the core problems with "diversity for the sake of diversity", instead of something more... Realistic, or "naturally occurring", or even likely...
See also, what they did to Lando in Solo... :-(

Go watch Queen's Blade. It's in a fantasy setting and all the girls lose their clothes in many different ways.
It's like junk food, it's yummy but turn your brain off.
Funny how it only ever goes one way.
So... (S)no(w) White is now "No White"..?
I'll see myself out...
You know, when I think about it, "No White and the Seven Male-Identifying Humans of Low Height" really does have a bit of a (suitably woke) ring to it... groan
“Evil cannot create anything new, they can only corrupt and ruin what good forces have invented or made.”

Snow White-Enuf
Cousin of Sure-Nuf, the Grandmaster.
Is Legolas gonna crash this one too?
Snow White is now Snow Hispanic?
Sludge Mestizo more accurately
Enjoy your culture erasure.
Coal Black was too hip for their jive.

ASIAN PANTHER WHEN>>>>>
A fucking Burrito

And this is Han Solo:
