Communities.win's traffic as a whole is doing the same thing as gab, so it could be a lot of things.

I personally don't use Gab. I have no tolerance for the Twitter model of social media. Even without censorship its still vacuous and pointless. I hope Patriots bounces back.

Personally I don't have a problem being a digital nomad when it comes to political communities. I ditched half-KiA in a heartbeat when the mods turned against the community after being there since the early days 2014, and I've probably only posted on Reddit KiA2 a handful of times when it's been particularly dead here since this site opened up.

While I would hope the users here would move as well because I enjoy the discussions, I don't have that much tolerance for throwing good money after bad and I'll gladly leave for somewhere else if things go in that direction.

"patriots".win is the kind of site where you get banned for "racism" after pointing out that a 10-point swing in 13% of the voter base is not worth antagonizing 75%+ of your own voter base for, especially if that 10-point swing is from 90% Dem to 80% Dem.

No wonder it dies down.

See, here's the first issue, he's been pandering to so many minority and wordsalad groups I don't even know for certain which demographic you mean.

Gab is a fine rally point. But as the last two decades have proven decentralized is a better defense against subversion.

The site is dying down because Trump himself is doing absolutely nothing. He'll show up once in a while to do a 'remember me' show, but then he's gone back to the dusty recesses of his business world. It's a daisy chain of blind followers and people kicking the dirt while they wait for now. Patriots.win shoulda stayed their URL, it helped called the stragglers back home.

Someone give me a history behind why that's happening. Did a particular event set something off?

Nah just people bored because it's not election season and none of the promised happenings ever happen. A lot of people here are complaining about this or that but I doubt any of those things made a big dent in participants. Once Trump starts campaigning it will pick up again.

This is expected. No election year, people lose interest. It will he back to its former self when the election happens in again in the end of this year, and more when presidential elections happen. The same thing happened to news sites. Massive boom in traffic during November and October 2020.
