It absolutely would be used in the opposite direction. We already have immense centralized databases that employ algorithms to create psychological profiles and predictive behavioral models for everyone who uses the internet, in an effort to control people through fear and manipulation. Technology has already made us less free than any generation before us has ever been, as we sacrifice more and more privacy and personal autonomy on the altar of convenience. Plugging our brains directly in to the internet would mean the end of human freedom.

When you're truly dysphoric, you're going to want out of your body one way or another, whether you alter your body or not.

The major problem today is that the Young dysphorics are being encouraged to "out" themselves physically via surgery etc. rather than being given the opportunity to explore their issues in a philosophical/spiritual way that doesn't involve shitty, supremacist, totem-poling, racist religions like Hindooism.

They need to learn the lesson of Tigerman. Dressing up in a costume, or altering your body, isn't going to change anything. It's not going to change the fact that you are stuck in the wrong body, being forced to live amongst the enemy for however long the gods force you to suffer your life. All you're going to do is attract exactly those who want to hurt you for fun. All you can do is try to kill yourself, if you really hate all the individuals you've attached yourself to that much. Or you can find ways to cope on your own. That's what things like Halloween, or New Year's fancy dress parties are for. And be thankful that there are moddable video games, there wasn't any such thing as even Space Invaders when I examined my body at the age of 3 and became enraged when I realized what species I was. But I did have bullies ....

And dysphoria isn't necessarily tied to sexual inclinations. Anyone who jumps to that conclusion is an idiot. It's more like wishing that, the next time you close your eyes, you wake up behind your proper ones.

And dysphoria isn't necessarily tied to sexual inclinations.

100% of trannies who are open about it are rampant degenerate coomers.

The ones that arent are properly ashamed of their defect and take pains to keep it hidden.

Yes, well I wonder how many of them are doing it to be trendy, because they can, and because it garners them attention/makes them feel positively special. ie, narcissists yelling "lookit me". Because Hollywood isn't big enough, and the circuses of old are dead.

The only people that would have their lives negatively impacted by prosthetics would be the people already negatively impacted by it: deaf "culture" enthusiast. They think deaf people shouldn't get implants to regain hearing, as it is some sort of betrayal of deaf culture. That is, of course, entirely retarded.

Everyone else will have their lives improved, as long as hackers are dealt with by execution, which needs to happen regardless. Remember, pretty much every type 1 diabetic (type 2 is the boomer diabetic) is already a cyborg: their pancreas is a machine 6000 miles away, and a computer has replaced parts of their endocrine system. Similarly there are now low grade replacements for blindness, deafness, paralysis, missing limbs, and more.

Sure it's entertaining, but i'd rather them be out of government entirely.

Once they are 'transhuman', they are no longer human and no longer protected under the law. Then the real fun begins.

Some non-humans deserve protection against humans a lot more than certain entire groups of humans do.

I have partial transhumanist inclination due to poor physical health. I do not think I am spiritually a cyborg or whatever. I will gladly replace broken flesh with cold steel.

And I agree with you. If I turn myself into a monstrosity, I should be reviled by pure men. I can't even promise a cool fight with lasers, but I accept that there should be some repercussion, and that it may be a net loss for both me and the people that come for me.

I am reminded of the lich of dnd fame. Dirty old wizard sacrifices his humanity for eternal life - similar tales are told in the past, but I don't have titles memorized. Liches are generally considered villains and ungodly evil beings in dnd, which is appropriate.

It just has to be that way. If you abide monsters, you inevitably accept them by your side. I'm sure the "transhumanist movement" will try to ease you into it because they want to have the reward without the cost.

So long as one is named Kahn, I'm ok with this.

Absolutely, they're looking for a material solution to a spiritual problem.

Transhumanism is reheated Gnosticism.

OT but Cyberpunk universe (the game) has "Cyberpsychos" that turn criminally insane because of all the implants they get.

While there appear to be certain modifications already, or soon to come to help the disabled, or enhance your average person, anything really "sci-fi" is beyond our reach and our reach is growing shorter with declining IQs. Won't be much of an issue. Feel bad for anyone reliant on something equivalent to a pacemaker or whatever, to keep functioning properly, some implant or whatever. Because if society goes the people who could service you will be few and far between, as will the resources be. Not a wise investment. Not sure what kind of tech is even available now anymore. Used to look at this stuff decades ago, people used to be into like freezing people until a point they could be revived and cured. That never came to fruition and won't. Transferring your consciousness and not just copying it, won't either etc. Dead end.

do you think they'll have a similar tranny suicide rate

Yes, because it doesn't matter what parts they cut off or bolt on, the mental aspect is still there.

Depends on the quality of the cybernetics. If high quality (ie no function loss when compared to normal healthy limb), then no. If added functionality in addition to this? Definitely no.
