One thing I'll always appreciate about Arbery is that he gave us "jogger" as a euphemism for "nigger."

Jogger. Stranger. Youth. How many different names have we gotten over the past decade?

Ahmaud Arbery went jogging

Yeah, jogging through other people's houses.

Tamir Rice deserves sympathy and concern, and questions should be asked about what could have been done to prevent that tragedy.

Ahmaud Arbery, meanwhile, got what he deserved.

questions should be asked about what could have been done to prevent that tragedy.

A child who does not understand that the orange tip on a replica pistol is there to save your life is too young to be allowed to own a replica pistol. A child who does not understand that the appropriate response to a police officer telling you to put your hands in the air is not to draw your replica pistol modified to look like a deadly weapon is also too young to be allowed to own a replica pistol. Preventing the tragedy is simple: his parents needed to be parents, and not let him do something incredibly dangerous until he was old enough to manage the risk.

At no age would Rice have been sufficiently responsible to own any kind of weapon. That would never have stopped him. As far as I'm concerned, tragedy was averted.

it was at least the 4th time that month arbery was burglarizing a house.

the media claimed he left the house jogging, but he was in work boots and over 10 fucking miles from home.

when their entire argument revolves around "rioting, burglary, and specific other felonies are not punishable by death" as a means to discount self defense, it's clear they're full of shit.

Ran all the way around the truck to punch the guy and grab his weapon; failed; ran; wasted.

The important questions are who are all of these people the media is shoving in our faces, what's their agenda, and why should I care?

The lack of awareness that both RATM and their fanbase shows in relation to the fact that they are now part of the Machine never ceases to amuse me.

They always were, I'm just mad at myself that it took someone pointing out 20 years ago "they're anti-capitalist yet getting rich off of the biggest record label, they're not donating all of that money after all" for me to realize it. While I still enjoy some of the individual songs from the first album fuck the guys behind the music and they'd never get another dime from me however I can detach the message from the one who said it if there's still a valid meaning in there even if the context was wrong.

They always were

Oh, no argument there. The irony of the juxtaposition of their viewpoints and the fact that they were signed to a huge record label wasn't lost on me during their initial bump in popularity back in the '90s, and it still holds true today. It just slays me that they've been able to pull the wool over the eyes of their fanbase for as long as they have. I guess there's never an end to the number of college students that are bent out of shape with the way the world works, courtesy of the indoctrination of their liberal arts professors.
