Yep. I remember Thomas Sowell talking about the people who endlessly talk about slavery that ended over 150 years ago but don’t lift a finger to help actual current slaves.
Remember when black people thought they would get “reparations” under Obama and instead got to not give a fuck when their black “brothers” were mass enslaved in Libya due to Obama? It’s hilarious how Africans grew wise to this and openly despise “Black Americans” and their culture.
Yep and speaking of Africans it’s funny to see the number of successful African immigrants in America who don’t seem to be bothered by all the white supremacy or institutional racism everywhere
To be fair, their argument is that American blacks are the victims of "systemic" racism and "generational racism" and the lack of "generational wealth." There IS some truth to the generational wealth argument.
The success of African immigrants does give sound evidence against many of the "racism" and "systemic" claims, but the generational wealth is still a lagging area for blacks.
Of course they won't talk about black-on-black crime, consistently lagging black educational success (i.e., standardized testing) across socioconomic lines, etc.
I mean I get it about generational wealth. I’m black and I understand that my great grandparents didn’t have opportunities that I have but my problem is seeing young black ppl who act like nothing has changed. You are right about your other points. I know it may not be the same but I’ve talked to people whose grandparents came with nothing as refugees with nothing or like at Europeans who came after civil war. Not quite the same but still a good example of the opportunities here if you work for it.
My great grandfather was born in the south in the 1890s and ended up owning 3 small businesses. He had very little schooling but encouraged his kids to get as much education as possible and to read.
So yes there is truth to the generational wealth issue but I have major issues to those living today who act like they are experiencing what their ancestors did.
Well, I'm glad some people are willing to approach society and other people with an open mind. The excuses do get old when so many people ARE able to succeed. Schooling--and a CULTURE that emphasises learning--really is key.
I get worried when I see some people deny all past problems and deny all past bad actions. We can acknowledge bad things in the past (slavery, jim crow, etc), but we also MUST acknowledge the incredible progress that has been made. There's just go to be balance. It isn't all bad or all good, and we shouldn't portray history or the present day that way.
I don’t think that stories are told a lot about black people owning slaves.
Oh, plenty of people talk about it. Of course, you just immediately reject everything they say and classify them as bigots the minute they open their mouths about it.
I think it was Don Cheadle who found out on TV that his ancestors had been slaves... of Native Americans. He was devastated - like he was proud of being descended from slaves of white people and it was a personal tragedy to learn facts.
Alex also discovered her four-times-great-grandfather had two children with one of the women he owned, Eleanor Frances Henry.... I don’t think that stories are told a lot about black people owning slaves.....“People hide their past because maybe they see it as something that people will frown upon if they tell true stories.“But I will never be ashamed of my history because it’s made me the person I am today,” she explained.--- Of course you don't hear a lot about Blacks owning blacks, for the same reason she feels she shouldn't be ashamed of her history but Whites should be. This is about an agenda pushing Whites as evil and the other races as some sinless saints. She should be thankful Africans were largely illiterate/had little civilization and she can't trace back into the more ancient past and see just how many of her ancestors were slaves and enslaved people. history didn't start when Blacks and whites first interacted, Blacks have been enslaving each other for heaven knows how long, and being enslaved by the "arabs" too. It's only when she can grift something out of Whites as a "victim" that this type cares.
A very basic look at the history of the world will show that slavery was quite common across all races and that land conquest was very common as well. Like you said the goal is to endlessly talk about whites so this is never widely taught.
Slavery, genocide, environmental destruction, even valuing light skin and other "western beauty standards". The myth of the noble savage I fear will never die. It's not taught and books on the subject are getting harder and harder to come by. A shame, because it's actually really fascinating to see how various ancient people lived...
In fact the slave sellers were blacks themselves who'd destroy a tribe, take over their lands and women and enslave the men. They did that for centuries before Europeans showed up and started to buy the slaves from them. But hey Blacks are immaculately clean and would never rape, shoot, kill, enslave, only Europeans with their macro-brains came up with that. Its not like we are all human beings and do everything good and evil regardless of race.
A simple look at global history would make that clear. But I guess we aren’t allowed to acknowledge that. As you mentioned about Africans selling other Africans I don’t get why west African nations don’t get any flak
This is karmic payback if I've ever heard it. Imagine thinking you're so pure only to discover your ancestors did what you dread the most. It's original sin magnified. It's beautifully funny.
The historian who delivered the news to Alex explained that he would have received preferential treatment, allowing him to prosper due to his light skin.
They still had to dress it up with this grossly misleading statement that implies her ancestor owned slaves because he was 'just white enough'.
Absolutely, you can find Black slaveowners in America who were super black. They succeeded in their plantation and slaving businesses on their own merits, not because anyone gave them preferential treatment.
Don Cheadle also found out Indians owned his family. Watching him go from excited to blame whitey to what the fuck in a matter of 12 seconds was priceless. You could see the cognitive dissonance break his brain.
Production is kind of a crapshoot. They pick UK celebrities and go digging through old records about their ancestors. The problem is that they never know what they're going to find. They have had to abandon episodes in cases where they have dug through centuries worth of records and found... absolutely nothing even remotely noteworthy or interesting; Just generation after generation after generation of thoroughly uneventful low status lives.
This is why you should teach about slavery from a global perspective and stop using it as a way to bludgeon the west/white people.
Lets not forget that slavery is still very common in Africa and the Middle East and nobody gives a fuck

The best part is that Obama basically gave reparations to Indian tribes through legal settlements.
It basically destroyed them.
hell, half the fucking leftoids are funded by qatar
But thats the entire point. Using white guilt as a bludgeon to destroy white nations.
Yep. And they just shrug shoulders if you point out atrocities of slavery anywhere else. Or that Europeans have been slaves
Oh, plenty of people talk about it. Of course, you just immediately reject everything they say and classify them as bigots the minute they open their mouths about it.
this bitch owes me reparations now
I think it was Don Cheadle who found out on TV that his ancestors had been slaves... of Native Americans. He was devastated - like he was proud of being descended from slaves of white people and it was a personal tragedy to learn facts.
He was excited to blame whitey and when he couldn't AND when he realized the people that owned his ancestors were treated worse, his brain broke.
Blacks and Arabs still own blacks.
Yep. I’m waiting for BLM to use their funds to help modern day slaves.
Alex also discovered her four-times-great-grandfather had two children with one of the women he owned, Eleanor Frances Henry.... Wait until she learns who the initial sellers of the black slaves were.
Socialists dedicated to destroying history are ignorant of it.
Film at 11.

The FIRST slave owned in the US was by a free black man.
He went to court to demand he could have a slave.
Blacks were pushing for it.
Africa pioneered the slave trade.
Wow, they're not even trying to hide it anymore, are they?
Savages gonna savage.
Gonna add to my reply:
They still had to dress it up with this grossly misleading statement that implies her ancestor owned slaves because he was 'just white enough'.
It's utter fucking bollocks.
Absolutely, you can find Black slaveowners in America who were super black. They succeeded in their plantation and slaving businesses on their own merits, not because anyone gave them preferential treatment.
If they would crack open a book they would see that every race has been slaves and slave owners. Slavery is as old as prostitution
Sometimes it was the same thing.
Don Cheadle also found out Indians owned his family. Watching him go from excited to blame whitey to what the fuck in a matter of 12 seconds was priceless. You could see the cognitive dissonance break his brain.

That’s because intersectionality requires the good bad mentality of a child
