That's exactly what they said when C.B Cebulski was appointed EiC and one of the executives pointed out how fans were disengaging due to all the SJW and diversity bullcrap.
That was more than half a decade ago, and instead of changing anything they literally doubled down with even MORE regressive SJW propaganda.
She can’t admit the truth because the truth will get her fired immediately. Better to double down and siphon just a little bit more money out of the industry

The content is shit, and the reputation of the big names is even worse. But they "should be able to do it" like it's a birthright or reward for being woke.

I've stayed away from the "mainstream" stuff for a while and sniffed out some of the better independent stuff, but even that has dried up lately. My weekly purchases on Comixology are almost exclusively manga now.

It used to be that big names with good reputations would sell on the name alone, but once you destroy the reputation that stops working. Now they're finally running into that problem.
What did you expect? Actively bashing the core audience, pandering to a tiny fraction of the population, and pushing race based nonsense. I remember when I first saw America Chavez I was like who the heck is asking for this. Now she will be in the movies
