Edit 2: Full (7 minute) clip. Way better; halfway through he gets a "call" like he's supposed to stop talking. Includes a bit about Bill Cosby: "there has never been any accusations about Bill Cosby, about anything"
Yeah what he actually did -- not answer the phone and complain about the producer wanting to do this as part of the act -- was better because it got the hens clucking about him not answering the phone.
LOL, just watched the clip -- hadn't seen it in a while. Didn't realize he talked about it on the show itself...thought I remembered it from one of the numerous morning radio talk show visits he did.
This will probably be my most effort post here, but here goes... if anyone deserves a longpost, it's norm.
What a good comedian/ Its utterly rare nowadays to have any mainstream comedy that is remotely funny, somehow norm always manages to do it. I havent seen any of his clips and not laughed. But that cant be said about modern comedy. No matter what era he was in, he was always hilarious.
They took him off Weekend Update for being too funny, and ruffling the wrong feathers. Can you imagine what SNL would look like if norm was still a writer for it?
Macdonald accused NBC exec Don Ohlmeyer of firing him over his controversial Simpson jokes, though Ohlmeyer claimed it was because of poor ratings.
We know that NBC is a shill for the democrat party. This guy was one of the funniest of the entire 90's SNL cast, and that includes dana carvey, mike myers, and meadows, among other greats of the comedy world.
There is NO way they didnt fire him for making the dems look bad. This norm clip is every bit as vicious as it is hilarious, the true purpose of a comedian- to make us all laugh, even at bad situations.
Very few comedians can do what norm did- being both topical and making it laugh out loud hilarious. His dedpan delivery is almost legendary, and barely matched by any other comic.
It is a terrible loss, for the comedy, and world at large, the voices speaking against the gathering dark of the world, have today been reduced by one.
Norm would have saved weekend update, had they kept him on the show, with unbeatable ratings, no doubt. As comedy falls into the same trap that journalism did, becoming a TOOL of the powerful instead of a great light held up to it, exposing the beautiful and more repulsive facets of our culture in equal mesure, Norm will always be a reminder for us, of what great comedy can be, and what that same comedy USED to be, for all of us.
Rest well, Norm, hope youre making the devil and everyone else laugh their asses off, wherever ya are.
Tips my ridiculously sized hat, inspired by an uproarius turd.
One of the first comedians ever canceled by today's presiding leftists.
Edit to add one of his very best bits: https://youtu.be/cMyKGNy3CI4

Edit: Here's Norm on The View doing a bit about Bill Clinton killing a guy and getting all the hens to cluck.

IIRC the phone call was a predetermined bit that they wanted to run but he wasn't really on-board with it.

Now I kinda want to hear what he talked about with W Bush for a half hour.
"I hope the democrats don't steal the election from the winner."
Psychic or just SSDD
Notice Norm was never brought up on defamation and liable.
9 year battle with cancer, stubborn bastard went down fighting.
If anything the battle ended in a draw
Lol perfect I remember that one he was so hilarious.
Reminds me of Christopher Hitchens. "I am not fighting cancer. Cancer is fighting me."
RIP Turd Ferguson
Rest in peace. One of the greatest of all time
Fuck, he was my favorite comedian. RIP
I had a ticket to his 9/11/2020 show that was cancelled because of this wuhan bullshit.
Literally the worst thing to ever happen on 9/11.
Oh I heard just a bit ago ;(
Even if not officially he always seemed like one of us. He was the best.
RIP, you old chunk of coal.
An absolute legend. His constant mockery of the Clintons never failed to make me laugh.

Man that sucks. And weird timing. I was just thinking about him and Dave Chappelle are the GOATs of comedy. Weird timing. He was so funny.
RIP to a legend, here's two of my favorite clips:

Cheers, Norm.
Thanks for all the laughs. 🍷🙃🙃 🍷
RIP Norm
His death was a twinning ritual- made to shadow that of the “white conservative male”.
Who?
Who?
You guessed it, Frank Stallone.
You know what they say: speak ill of the dead.
