Never really got why someone would want to play FF on mobile anyway, but then, a lot of smartphone gaming doesn't make any sense to me.
Also, side note I disagree that the backgrounds look better in the mobile version of FFVI, they look very "high school art class" to me cheap and lazy like the sprite work. PSP FFIV Art looks great, why is the UI so ugly though? Those fonts are all over the place...
That is how literally most of the background spritework was done in that "remake." It is astonishing to think that a game made by a big company by square enix would send that out as acceptable, when it wasn't like that in the original game.
FFV was my fave FF game too. Such a great game, but yeah that version was utter trash. Not to mention a lot of the artwork they added like the character portraits were just bad. Either way though, this is messed up :P

Actually yes I do agree with you. Those were quite good looking the enemy sprites and battle backgrounds. I honestly don't know about the Pixel Remaster versions, I guess they are supposed to be like the originals more visually?

If you did anything other than just emulate the original roms, you were a sucker anyway.
FF is a series where many different ports and versions are littered with changes, often making the original roms quite inferior.
Granted, most of the best versions are still emulatable but its worth noting.

I kind of moved away from Final Fantasy. I'm more into spiritual successor to the old school games Bravely Default.

It's not the thing that is being lost, but the principle of how they are able to destroy arbitrarily.
Cloud gaming (or movies or books) is for chumps. If you want a game, get a physical copy. They can't replace your physical copy with an alternative.
