Remember, we aren't allowed to acknowledge anything Chris Rock used to say about black people by his demand. Not that any of it isn't still true, he just doesn't like that people find it more proof of problems instead of laughy funny joke haha.
“We don’t like necklacing, but we understand its origins,” A.N.C. President Oliver Tambo would eventually admit. “It originated from the extremes to which people were provoked by the unspeakable brutalities of the apartheid system.”
Gee, that sounds rather familiar. Rather similar to the "oh, we have to understand the rioters, it's the fault of years of white oppression that they're looting Target and Best Buy!"
I recently had a discussion about this with a friend. I personally think libraries will be big targets. Not for looting but for destruction. They are full of books written by "old white men" and non-fiction, which, of course, is racist. It doesn't help that people staffing libraries are fellow travelers and would likely hold open the doors and hand out matches.
I guess it comes down to who is running the riots that day.
Well, you gotta remember. Most looters are out for shit, not activism. Even in BLM riots, most people were looking to fight cops and break shit. They didn't care about Racial Socialism.
Clearly, these peaceful protesters are not interested in 'bargain' books, but in hand-bound, limited edition versions of great scholarly works. Particularly Boethius and Russel and Whitehead's Principia.
So here's how you turn a book into a storage vault:
Find a decent-sized hardcover book. About a quarter to a third the way in, cut a square-ish hole in the center like a picture frame, going down to the end. Keeping the "loose page" first parts separate with a towel, carefully soak the rest of the cut pages in glue like a millefeulle papier mache. Once dried, glue is very solid. Do it one last time one-sided on a final page to make the "entry" page clean of glue-damage and let dry. Put your object into the book (flask into a bible is a popular pick, or just jewelry) then close your book. If you didn't screw up, you can even open the book and flip a few pages without the storage area being revealed. For additional effect, have an obvious cheap safe with costume jewelry in it.
I mean what? Sarcastic comment about reading. Sarcastic quip about education.

Like Uncle Ruckus said, so is a job application.

Truly a man of science. How did he predict this? How was his hypothesis so accurate?
The audience (vast majority black, by the way) laughs because they know its true.
They're better behaved than the Democrats' rioters - they would have burned the bookstore.
"If those kids could read, they'd be very upset"
Didn't they set the mall on fire?
they set everything on fire.

I don't think the American government will be acting against rioting, burning and looting 5-10 years in the future either.
Well they basically do nothing at all right now as it is unless the rioting is right wing. Then they spare no effort cracking down on it.
From one of the tweets in that thread:
This is entirely in line with what he was pushing for. When your political party repeatedly turns a blind eye - and your wife openly endorses - filling tires with gasoline jamming it around someone's arms and neck and then setting it on fire, what do you think the end result is going to be?
Gee, that sounds rather familiar. Rather similar to the "oh, we have to understand the rioters, it's the fault of years of white oppression that they're looting Target and Best Buy!"
That's barbarous beyond horrifying, I wish I could unread it. ,, did not click the link /god help us all.
Well, we're making progress.
I mean, a millennia ago when a city was sacked the libraries were among the FIRST things torched.
The good news is that even if civilization collapses, our Libraries will be safe, unlike the one in Alexandria was.
If?
I'm not a man of faith. But I don't tolerate black-pills when I know they are wrong.

This was even a joke in Men in Black 25 years ago. "Why is she reading in the hood?"
It was what she was reading - quantum physics. Way too advanced for a little girl. She's gonna start some shit.
Yeah and what race was that girl

Imagine all the manga that could be gained from that place.
