Fascist Israeli government? They get crazier by the minute.
The Israeli government seems fairly progressive authoritarian. Granted, they haven't abolished the Knesset, but its structure and legislative freedom would suggest tyranny of the majority.
Not that I'm complaining.
Progressive authoritarian and Fascist are still in the same vein.
Israel: a... Falangist State???
jk. I have no idea. Falangism is still confusing to me.
That being said, I'm not in favor of Land Redistribution schemes.
Fascism seems to have more in common with Progressivism than Communism. With the demonization of words, it all gets very confusing, though.
In the US, I could support something like Fangalism (based on a cursory glance). As long as it deals with redistribution of the 28% owned by the federal government.
Fangalism would never work because Catholicism is one of major origins of Social Justice, you'll just end up in the same place doing the same shit, with the same people. They'll just scream that you're not being a good catholic while they're doing it.
Man... this is a conversation. Not one for today, but one that should be had. Catholicism is just... god dammit.
It's a good topic. I'm just sick and tired of Conservative Catholic personalities in the media looking at the Catholic Church going full "Liberation Theology" and saying, "No, you don't understand, only Catholicism will save us from the Leftists."
Bitch, Islam has a better track record opposing Leftism than Catholicism.
Conservative Catholic is mostly an oxymoron. There's a lot of history to dig through on the topic, though.
Falangists as in Lebanon?
There are Falangists in Lebanon?
Kataib Party. Founded in the 1930s inspired by fascism, later Israel's allies in Beirut during the war.

Huh. Neat.
What exactly constitutes tyranny?
Well... oppression.
Wasn't a well worded comment, though. What I mean is that the Knesset isn't bound by the any great constitutional measures. They can dictate law through simple majority, and there doesn't seem to be any safeguard against tyranny of the majority.
It'll be interesting to see how the arab uprisings within Israel proper are handled.
So you basically meant majoritarian. Yes, Israel does not have a constitution, but the Supreme Court has decided that it's still going to hold the government to general principles of law.
The funny thing is, many European countries also do not have judicial review.

VIDEO GAMES
Video games?
"Journalism?"Actually no, I can't even claim they do that at the best of times ?
"Hey gamers and techies! We need you to get involved in a conflict that has gone on for thousands of years which we've oversimplified into US & Israel bad and anti-Semites good!"
It's funny how Bibi sucked up to fucking Biden and acknowledged his "victory", yet the left still fucking hate him and his country.
Fair take. There's no domestic political benefits to Biden publicly supporting Israel, and geopolitically, it's a given. America First isn't anti-Israeli (I hope?). I'd hoped it would be domestically anti-Zionist, but the magapedes are disappointing on that front.
He was just going back to his old friend.
Call me old fashioned, but I like to keep the whole Israel-Palestine in a part of the universe I like to call "someone else's problem"
"Open-air prison" my ass. LOL where do I sign up for my self-governing ethno-territory- I mean open-air prison?
When I ride a bus near a local prison I too often see then firing Grad rockets into nearby areas as it's usual with prison inmates.
You'd think the warden would do something about all that artillery.
Reminder that there is no such thing as Palestine.
If there is one thing I have learned over the years, it’s that I really don’t care for Israel, and even less for Palestine.
Can anybody explain what “kotakuinaction” means?
I merely found I loved this subreddit as a freethinking place....
I have no clue about the backstory
Kotaku used to be a video game news website, but it went sour with all the idpol stuff that started up about a decade ago. There was a subreddit called "TumblrInAction" that was for screenshots of Tumblr posts of crazy people and how unhinged and disconnected from reality they were.
KotakuInAction began as a sub that posted similar behavior from Kotaku itself, but quickly broadened into multiple other websites, and then further still into video game journalism at large, and ultimately onto real world politics.
There was a rift in the moderators and the users about the scope of the subreddit, so KiA2 was born.
How many times do we have to teach you this lesson?
I have no idea what to think about the Israel-Palestine issue.
