Basically, our stolen vote. The users voted to disallow curation of posts by the whims of moderators (Option 4) by 74.6% - with the remaining votes distributed over 3 different options.
After a few months, the moderators declared that they would steal the vote and do whatever they wanted anyway.

I'd add that the tone of the moderators after that vote poured gasoline on the fire to prove how little they thought of those that dissent. A more sane set of mods might have been able to explain how it was more work than expected to allow Option 4 and wasn't feasible in the long run, but then-Admin Raraara burned all goodwill with his 'Aussie Acidity' nonsense by just mocking people that didn't appreciate the vote being overturned, and the rest of the mods joined in.
So yeah, as far as a lot of us are concerned, it would've been better if Half-KiA had gone down with David-Me. It's not like they've actually done anything in the last 3 years, and probably longer.
I take strong exception to that. Not just because of the loss of a community, which forces of good may still reconquer in the future, but that the largest GG community would die such an ignominious death would be absolutely tragic. They'd be citing for years how "KiA was killed by its founder for being too racist", without a shred of evidence, of course.
I also help them with information about admin nonsense and other stuff that helps them not get banned, and they help me. You may not like them. I don't either. But they are our allies. It's the narcissism of small differences to think that they are the enemy. When the outside world can't even tell us apart, it is the height of folly to consider them the enemy.
They claim everything else without evidence, why would David-Me's meltdown be much different?
As for seeing the KiA mods as enemies...well, frankly, they strangled how many thousands of subscribers out of KiA with the bloated rules? KIA never put in any effort to move here, as they are both sufficiently cucked and Leftist to only need minor censorship to maintain a safe position on reddit. Their .win has been dead since day one.
KIA2 has never once been safe on reddit, is constantly one bad day from banning, and half of our .win is banned there anyway. This place is a necessary lifeboat to continuing our community and discussions we want to but cannot have there.
Reddit users are the lowest of scumbags. Why should anyone tolerate a reddit user on a .win site?
Speaking of this, r/yiffinhell is the only remaining anti-furry subreddit and it's controlled by regressive leftist's, which is ironic as the furry community has a critical infestation of these freaks.

Voat was a thing back when it was just KIA1. Many tried to migrate and the literal servers barely worked and it was unusable for most people. That's why it specifically failed.
Most of the alternatives you listed were considered, and failed that "free speech" test on their own sales pitch when they came to recruit us.

This is not true though. I don't understand why people insist that censorship must be interconnected with politics. Their problem is their arrogance and their control-freak nature, not their politics.
Because most of them were very open about their political leanings, acted similarly to those with the same leanings we were in opposition to, and eventually began to use their leanings to define reality to us when enforcing those rules (remember T_D crossposters are all brigaders, SJW are unrelated to Gamegate, and journalists literally getting beaten has nothing to do with ethics in journalism because Rarara didn't like the politics of it? Nobody said that. The methodology, and course we went down towards this inevitable end happened because of many of their political roots. Censorship is completely apolitical and can happen in many ways and for many reasons.
