Because "Climate Crisis" wasn't getting the kind of fear reaction they wanted. And if anybody is actually worried about the environment, they have to come to terms with this before thinking that more taxes or government programs will fix anything.

I've had moderate success with the following rhetoric:

"Are you willing to go to war with China in order to save the environment?"

Turns out no one has the balls to deal with the problem after all.

That's been my line of reasoning. If climate change was ACTUALLY going to doom humanity within 20 years, it would be our moral responsibility to nuke China.

If progressives/globalists/environmentalists are not on board with this than they don't actually believe in the cause.

Same thing with religious folk who say everyone but them is going to hell. If you ACTUALLY believed in eternal damnation, you would be morally responsible for committing your life to proselytizing.

Not only nuking China, but taking care of the homeless in the US and enforcing very strict immigration control. While nowhere near the contributor to pollution as China, the homeless and illegal aliens pollute our waterways, leave trash everywhere, and defecate wherever they please. Plastic straws and plastic bags are banned, yet they have no qualms about the piles of trash and feces being left on the streets and in the less developed parts of the US.

Step 1) Induce guilt Step 2) Sell them a guilt-reducing "cure" Step 3) ??? Step 4) Profit

It's literally the Catholic Indulgences model for atheists.

Based, logical, and factual.

More taxes does fix something though (from their perspective). It drives their agenda of government control over private industry: fast-tracking fascism.

Government control over private industry; multinational corporate globalist cronies over sovereign governments. Same thing.

Yeah it's really Mega-Corporate control over the Government control over all non-mega-corporate private enterprise.

All true, but I know people who still think it's our fault because so many of the products bought in the US are made in China. And their "solution" is for everyone in our country to stop buying so much and to raise taxes.

Just more evidence that someone who specializes in one discipline can be a fool in another.

I still think the solution for our declining economy and job loss is greater regulation, but that regulation is antithetical to what the left wants.

The solution is to buy local and tariff the shit out of global goods. Would clean up "the climate emergency" overnight. They would probably support nuking china before they would support the end of their global communist dreams though.

No, they only want to control the common man, the small businesses. They are perfectly willing to submit to the large corporations as long as they benefit from it.
