I was thinking like in he case of centuries, where the 21st century started in 2001 and not 2000. Would the same not apply here?
Good. The more time they waste on shit like this the more they fall behind technologically. Mozilla deserves to wither and die.
On one hand yes, it does, but on the other hand, everything else is just various rebrands of Chromium and I don't want that to be the only choice outside fucking Links.
In theory options are good, but what has Firefox become? A propaganda tool to push politics.
Mozilla has turned into a far-left activist organization that pushes political messages in its browser. They coordinate censorship campaigns. They develop censorship extensions (this one isn't their first). They advocate for deplatforming.
Firefox is no longer a viable option. The sooner they die the sooner someone else can pick up the pieces.
Google does all of this as well, and much, much worse. I'm sure that if Mozilla had the influence Google does, they'd do the same things, but they don't.
Also Firefox is the only browser that can do vertical nested tabs right now, and I'm so used to that I can't imagine going back to the standard. I'm sure the geniuses at Mozilla will kill that eventually in their neverending quest to become a Chromium knockoff, but until then I'm keeping Firefox as my main browser. I hate it, but that's clown world for ya.
Mozilla is way more radical than Google. They created an addon to censor Youtube because they don't think Google censors enough. And they call for more deplatforming because they don't think even the most censorious social media platforms do enough.
Plus, Google just develops the Chromium framework. Browser developers like Brave ultimately decide the end product. Unlike Mozilla who directly use their power to determine which news their users see or which political popups get shown in the browser.

I"ve switched to waterfox a while ago. You sometimes have to install an older version of an extension or install an extension directly from github rather than the firefox website but otherwise everything seems to work.
You can use all chromium addons on Brave, including noscript and ublock.
