Lastly, the new Mortal Kombat’s story simply doesn’t seem to have as much of a place for Johnny Cage. The reboot is heavily focused on Scorpion and Sub-Zero’s rivalry, and hints point to Cole possibly being connected to both.
Yet you replaced Cage with this new guy because you hate white people. You could swap it back to Cage while keeping everything the same and it would still work. No place for Johnny Cage my ass.

From a looks standpoint, the casting of Sonya is better than I expected. Still, you can tell they were holding back. Can’t have too attractive of a woman, and certainly not one with big breasts!
They're so racist that they don't even want to take the chance that their racism might go unnoticed. Because a less overt racist would just make that Scorpion and Sub Zero movie and let people assume it was an artistic decision not driven by racial hatred.

Facebook was not admonished or censured for it. The black women were given slaps on the wrist despite overt film evidence they themselves made. The judge said it was with great regret he would need to judge them as gender and race neutral, as normally he'd give much lesser sentences to them merely by virtue of their race and gender, but he was worried about public backlash, and it was still a slap on the wrist.
Oh fuck yeah, I recall watching an essay on him. Dude was forced to fight wearing literal (chinese version of) clown makeup to make himself look more ridiculous. He dared state that chinese fighting styles were pretty weak and that there was better methodologies, and instead of saying "Yeah, we're just trying to foster our culture, but it is ineffective", the CCP instead quadrupled down, saying the best fighters of this one style can beat anyone. So, a C rank MMA fighter had to topple the government's best and those who align themselves with the CCP, in the face of threats and hatred and violence outside.
If Hollywood wasn't a giant puss sack, Xu Xiaodong's story would be the greatest modern hero tale, a story of self sacrifice to try to stand up to giant assholes. But, Xu would be the evil villain in today's movies.
I can't imagine being that much of a cuckhead to feel anything after that match. You get hoisted up as an example of a god amongst men, and then you get your skull battered while everyone is trying to shelter you, and you land nothing. These people are competitive beings, but even the ultra stereotypical cheating baddies in Rocky 4 had more dignity.
I think the last Asian fighter that was any good was Lyoto Machida. Which is funny because he wasn't very good, his competition just didn't know how to defend against his awkward style.

Partly because the official sequel sucked, but also because this new attempt is just another nostalgia grab at fans that the producers seem fel bent on pissing off.

Civ beyond earth got a lot of flak for being a civ 5 reskin, but the music its so fucking good, I got chills in civ 6 when you complete a science victory, its plays a part of civ be soundtrack
