It isn't Hypocrisy, it's Hierarchy: An argument for why pointing out double-standards is ineffective (www.youtube.com)

TL;DW: the people to whom you are making this argument don't care that it's hypocritical. They see you as the enemy and deserving of what you get, and the fact that they can get away with it is an assertion of power over you and feature of the system rather than a bug.

Edit: IOW "They can't do that to our pledges! Only we can do that to our pledges!"

We know. It's done for jokes, catharsis and to wake others up, not to persuade ideologues.

After awhile laughing at the retards who are kicking your ass stops being catharsis and is just plain cope. "Ha these idiots are so stupid they..successfully...rigged...a...presidential...election"

To be honest I'm also tired of it.

It's all so tiresome, even more so when you consider that movie's a decade old now.

It's just like Trump's defense today. It pointed out a lot of hypocrisies, but nobody cares. The house managers were so desperate that they tried to refute a video by the defense by calling it racist and sexist because it featured black women. Anyone with eyes and ears should be able to see right through Stacey's claim, but it doesn't matter. The left is already repeating that narrative and defusing any arguments. The right tries to play by the left's rules and feels shame about being called racist and sexist. They are hollow words. The sooner the neocons are gone, the better.

Hypocrisy is something that only friends and allies try to avoid. It's not hypocrisy for example if you're in a literal shooting war to only fire in the direction of your enemies. And if your enemies tell you it's not fair, the only rational response is "of course it's not fair"

You can tell western leaders are traitors because they point out imaginary western hypocrisies to avoid acknowledging their people are getting fucked by China.

Yes, well they'd rather distract you by pointing at how China are bad guys (who barely impact you) rather than acknowledge that THEY are the bad guys (who directly and on the daily steal money from you, reduce your freedoms, and empower people who hate you)

We won't be free of our demonic leaders without also removing CCP influence. That's the problem with international communism.

We are well past the point of arguing with our enemies.

I think most of us understand at this point that the left is on a war footing and hypocrisy doesn't matter.

I'm interested in suggestions that aren't just "the boog".

Step 0 is finding neighbors who share your values. If you can't, then you need to move to somewhere you can.

Beyond that, within your hyper-local community try to be as self-sufficient as you can. And then teach your kids if you have them how to self-organize instead of depending on things like sports leagues and after-school activities.

I've said before "more sandlot, less little-league". In pretty much all aspects of life. We are effectively settlers in a hostile land trying to carve out our little slice. Our ancestors who settled America didn't look at the natives and say "we should integrate into their society". They formed their own. That's us now, as unfortunate as it is.

In a way it is a return to American tradition if nothing else.

I can't think of a single company that sees 'being progressive' as a reason to get rid of someone, even if people complain, whereas 'being conservative' has definitely gotten people fired.

This just sounds like the issue addressed in the video, pretending that we're on even footing and have the same access. We don't.

You can't get them fired for being progressive, but you can get people fired for a myriad of other reasons. Use one of those other reasons and setup progressives for failure at every opportunity, while being extremely polite and cordial to them. Hide your power level.

It's true that most normal people, people on the Right, etc. lack meaningful institutional power.

This doesn't mean you don't have ANY power. Wield the power you have, limited as it may be. Join with people who are likeminded to increase your power.

If you avoid doing this, you're basically admitting defeat. The only losing move is not to play.

Great hindsight. Many others, myself included, seem to have came to this conclusion (eg. ramzpaul, academic agent) after last American election. And it's not even the mainstream conservatives who do this, only the populist internet ones. With this falls also the 'belief to have power' point you are making, when in fact the belief that your opponents will change their behavior or that maybe the neutral observers are convinced, is what is behind it all. It is hypocrisy if you take their own words, and like hypocrisy and hierarchy are exclusive.

you

to be clear, I am not the author of this video. I merely liked the argument and thought others here would as well.

tldw but I've been saying this for a while now

We know they have no principles, they know they have no principles. Argument, reasoning, and giving them any benefit of the doubt is just seen as weakness.

The way to win is to do what the left is doing but better. Identify the enemy, destroy the enemy.

Publicly attempting to get someone fired or deplatformed is economic violence, publicly calling someone a racist or nazi is social violence. Defense against violence is morally justified.

Just defending against a specific attack does not solve the problem, just delays a defeat. The only way safety in the future can be ensured is to remove the enemy's ability and/or will to initiate more attacks.

I'm not going to propose any specific courses of action but a good place to start is studying how scientology treated its "suppressive persons" back when it was a big deal.

Even to the extent they have principles, they see you as the enemy; so their principles don't apply to you.

Growing up there was always the kid who picked on his sister. What happened if you picked on his sister? Conservatives are the nerd telling that kid "hey it's not fair that you can pick on your sister but I can't" and it's about as effective.

Trial by jury is not gonna work anymore because leftists prioritize feelings and they are openly hostile against men and/or whites.

Justice system is fucked and leftists think its fine. Its fine because they think its payback for the deeds of evil, white patriarchy.

Imagine being a white dude on trial and trigglypuff is one of the person determining your fate?? How about 2 or 3?

It's not effective enough, but far from pointless. Every double standard exposed is an entrypoint for normies to see the truth. Keep pointing them out!

I'm trying to imagine the kind of person who lived through last year and wasn't convinced who is eventually going to come over to our side. Maybe a literal child?

Normies gonna norm. Assuming the current BS statistics, half of the country didn't even vote. Most of the country still goes about their daily business not giving a second thought to the bullshit slowly choking them. Pointing out double standards convincingly is a good way to get them to notice.
