- Nearly everyone in power/authority (directing you, paying you, ordering you, etc) is a wahmen.
- And nearly all of them are wahmen of color or trans or gay. White men dumdum, please trans wahmen of color u can tellz me wat I spose doo???
- The few men in power (who are also mostly minorities) get killed quickly due to arrogance/being dum dums (men, amirite???) or are revealed to not be their true own true boss.
- Romance with characters was a big feature, but no romance white people! Only secks with minority allowed! If u secks with white person, fine it can only be a gay guy.
- White government officials fascist. Black government officials good.
- all wahmen are victims, they only sell their coochies because society meanies to them.
- try not to kill people pleeease? Criminals are product of da system we need to help dem!
I’m only 5+ hours in and just completed maybe 5-10 missions lol. Can’t imagine it gets any less sjw-y
Anytime a good company gets big this happens it seems. They seem to forget how they became successful in the first place (hiring passionate people based on skill) and they resort to hiring people based on resumes. It’s especially destructive when they develop an HR department, because 99% of the people in that field are lazy commie fucks and they just exacerbate the issue!
The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Companies of the future will look back on the early 21st century as a painful lesson in what happens when you hire the wrong people.
Granted, our entire society will be wincing over what not dealing with the Saul Alinsky's of the world there and then brought us, but oh well. Some lessons cannot be taught, they must be found.
Isn't a lot of the staff murricans now? Or at least from pozzed countries.
Found the problem.
Yep women and minorities ruin everything
Correction, just women.
Correction: Minority diversity hire
So what you're saying is you gave them money.
I did sadly.
As I’ve grown older I buy fewer and fewer games. The last release date game I bought was Red Dead 2 in 2018 and before that Fallout 4 in 2015. I VERY RARELY game. And of all the games, from what I heard, Cyberpunk was supposed to not only be a good game, but be anti-sjw, so naturally I was excited for a new game to play.
But it was all lies.
I didn’t preorder it I just went to target but yes I did learn my lesson to wait.
Red Dead 2 was kinda cucked too unfortunately
Very true. Fortunately it was not much. At least not enough that I was bothered by it. But I had several eye roll moments where my eyes rolled out of my head.
Especially compared to GTA V and RDR1 but overall it was not that bad imho. Majority of the game was fine but you can see how at certain points they added some woke characters and scenes to appease the Twitter crowd
So was Spider-Man.. all the power figures are women. Peter is just a puppet, he makes ZERO decisions without checking with the police chief. I had to turn the voice volume to 0 to make it playable.
They also predicted (pre-programmed) a pandemic with people wearing masks.. and 5G towers going up everywhere
Jeez man, you have terrible taste in games. If you only buy the most hyped up game every couple years, you're gonna keep getting the worst of the worst.
Those aren't the only games I played, just the ones I bought as new releases. I rarely buy games new release because they are too expensive and I don't have time to play them to justify the cost.
I still buy used/old games.
I only buy games on sale except for my yearly PES game. I don't buy full priced otherwise
Same, except my yearly buy is F1.
It does have some text which makes a joke about the FBI crime stats. That's definitely less than the main storyline of course. I decided to go on the high seas and "demo" the game instead of buying it and I feel like that was a good decision.
A person with a furry avatar is upset. Go figure. They're completely blind to their own degeneracy.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I LOVE IT
That's more or less them just being triggered into being reminded of FBI stats than that funny text actually being a nod to those stats.
Witcher 3 had all the SJW up in knots. Everyone thought they were getting Witcher 3 but in the future with implants and that is why everyone thought it was based. By the way Witcher 3 had a bit of SJW influence but it was not big enough to be noticed.
When I heard that trans were upset despite being able to edit your genitals I was 100% certain it was going to tick all the SJW boxes. It was clear it is just propaganda to make you think it is based and you should buy it. They feared a backlashed from being super woke. Lets be honest, no other game went so much overboard to accommodate trans before so they manipulated to make you think it was somehow based.
Good point, because yeah the genitals have no functional purpose, at all. Not even sure why you can edit or see them at all, you literally only see them in the creation screen
Why did Geralt have dynamic beard growth? Shits and giggles.
Customizable dick and balls is just another way to lean into the cyberpunk aesthetic. Anyone who is playing this game and paying attention to the stories will quickly realize Night City isn't a cool place to be, it's a fucking nightmare. And it's written like one.
Aren't there sex scenes? That's probably why.
That's possible, because I haven't romanced a main character yet. But you don't see anything with the hooker in jig town
As far as I'm concerned, it was only made a big deal of because of the human nudity.
Bought it on sale for $20, all DLC. Got to the end of the first big story (the one with Jonny). I'm enjoying it, don't get me wrong, and I don't mind the crafting system, et al, or the fact that it feels kind of like a single-player MMO (which I actually don't mind, either). I dislike the forced third-person, but on the other hand, it serves to remind me that it's not "my" story, it's Geralt's ... I just don't see anything otherwise "amazing" about it, not in the same way I found Skyrim "amazing" when I first noticed that people and creatures were living their lives without regard to my character, or anything like that ... The story? You're looking for your chick friends, as far as I am, anyway. Instead of for a dragon, or my dad, or some kid I don't care about, or the Devil ...
It's enjoyable and all, but I don't see where it warranted so much braggadoccio surrounding it. Beyond the nudity. Perhaps I'm missing something, or haven't got there yet.
The main story was not that great but I liked the DLCs a lot, better story and better boss fights but the main game story was uninterested and combat was boring.
I think it was a huge hit because younger players did not get to play as a male confident hero that has girls fawning over him. For many this was a new concept, is like eating a cookie for the very first time after being told for years the cookie was toxic.
I've not played the game and I'm not planning to, but I haven't seen any forced third person in the various streams I've watched. Where does it happen?
They were talking about Witcher 3, not CP2077.
OK, I have to throw something out there. I hate posting anything on social media at all but I've got a backlog of thoughts on this. Long rant.
I know how soul-sucking it is to see all of your escapism subverted. Some otherwise good games have picked up the rot, and it kills me. Pillars of Eternity 2 comes to mind -- good gameplay loop with a fair difficulty curve and promising pen-and-paper mechanics, but it couldn't resist beating the player over the head with things like the leadership choices mentioned above. Poor natives vs. evil colonialists, who cares? A literal god walking the earth and we're supposed to get involved in politics?
Anyway, in Cyberpunk's defense: I sometimes find myself destroying my own enjoyment of things by overthinking stuff that wouldn't have bothered me before certain people made a big deal of them; to the extent that some things I used to like have a sickly pallor when I revisit them. For example, take KotOR (the first), arguably one of the best RPGs in PC history. When I say arguably, I mean you can claim it isn't, it's OK to be wrong.
But go back to it and look at it with the same standards I (and apparently others) find myself applying to new releases. Bastilla is a bossy, bitchy lady who is your boss from the get-go, and who is endowed with miraculous power that places her beyond the reach of even master Jedi; and the Jedi council are mostly sanctimonious white guys who are out to ruin you. Jolie Bindo, the one guy who has it all figured out, is the stereotypical wise old black hermit. Does it mean that it was a bad story all along? I don't know, as much as I like it Star Wars was never a deep philosophical well to begin with.
But did you love it when you first played it? I sure as hell did. So why am I noticing these things now? Conditioning, of course, and a huge amount of pent-up frustration with neopuritans.
So, Cyberpunk itself... first, the genre is two things: rooted in the eighties, with all the wonderful/stupid kitsch that entails; and second, *punk *is the operative word. Sure, the term has been coopted by people who listen to punk music on 1200 dollar vanity phones that could easily be used to look up the definition of "irony", but it has always meant anti-establishment. Look at the big inspirations: Bladerunner, obviously; Total Recall (and if you haven't seen the Total Recall elements in there yet, you aren't reading between the lines); Shadowrun (now there's a casualty of the culture wars). They're all unabashedly pessimistic dystopian worlds where corporations rule everything and exploit the baser human impulses like sexual degeneracy to keep people in line. Hell, even Idiocracy called that one.
They also have the "global village" milieu of twenty different cultures living the gutters of America, and it isn't meant to be a rosy picture of multicultural enlightenment. Just hell.
So yeah, the two employers you interact with at first are women, but there are six or seven others. Yes, the first hacker you enlist as support is a "strong black woman" cut-out, but she isn't around for long. It bothered me about the time I got to the "main" "fixer" in the story, who was yet another chick, but... that's about it.
So far, anyway. I'm not saying the game isn't going to disappoint me, I'm only ~12% through the main storyline according to the interface.
The protagonist Keanu plays is still hugely influential, albeit a stereotypical 80's style punk rocker with some sexual foibles implied by flavor text on world items -- just like half the cock rockers I grew up loving, and IDGAF since they were never beating me over the head with it. The black mayor of NC, who dies in the opening chapters of the game, is a fat corrupt loser who is clearly not meant to be noble or great; the guy who takes over is white but is also just another corporate shill, since this is a corporate dystopia. Your friends look like the cast from an 80's movie: vaguely latina and arguably hot Panam, unambiguously latino meatshield Jackie, a whitebread AI who doesn't understand humor. Is it always socjus, or is it just homage to over-the-top 80's shit?
And to top it all off, CDPR made a game about cynical global corporatism run amok, and when some of the cynical global corporations told them to price it at 70 dollars because why not, they insisted on 60. It's not exactly spitting in the eye of wokeness, but think about the sheer irony of that.
Anyway, if I think of everything in SJWisms then I'll just be doing their job better than they ever could.
TL;DR: it's a game about a world that represents everything reprehensible in global corporatism. Some of it may genuinely be satire.
I think you hit the nail on the head. It's far too easy too chalk up the tropes in the game to SJWism, despite the tropes of the cyberpunk setting predating SJWism as it exists today.
I like this take. I look at the mega-corporation aspect of a lot of sci-fi/cyberpunk and see parallels to today with Google/Alphabet, all the social medias, etc. I've always interpreted that as an anti-SJW type commentary. Or for example, been playing Deus Ex Human Revolution recently and that game/series feels based as hell while still employing cyberpunk ideas of augmentations and future tech and all that. Manipulative, propaganda uni-media, globalist deep state kinda stuff. And I've heard the original 2000 game is even more that way.
But more to your point, I think if you're actively looking to be upset for left leaning reasons or right leaning reasons in anything, you can find them. And sometimes [often] I just want to let that go and enjoy things. That is becoming harder these days as everything from movies to games to sports feels the need to beat you over the head with these things. But if it's not so blatant as to clearly be "the intention" (and its usually easy to spot because it's so clunky when they force it) I can for the most part look over it and just take the enjoyment for what it's worth. Which is what I'm hoping to be able to do with Cyberpunk 2077...
Download Deus Ex IMMEDIATELY. Has everything...the illuminati, AI, nano machines, engineered pandemics, aliens, the Chinese being shady fucks. Everything. Most based game I've played anyway.
Sounds like Max Headroom would fit into all this, as well.
Hell yes!
You get paid to kill criminals by the police and several threads in the story talk about the various ways the upper-class attempt to eradicate the lower class while exploiting them, which actually does happen. See: Marxism and who pushes it and who profited from it this last year.
I feel like I’m living in two realities. I’ve been saying this is the way the game was gonna go for years and everyone called me crazy, they defended muh based Pollacks with a cult like devotion, even at places like KIA 2. Even I didn’t expect it to be a buggier, more pozzed Fallout 4 with a faux cyberpunk coat of paint.
Its funny how easily even our own fall into tribalistic "BASED BOYS MAKE THE SJWS SEETHE" and eceleb worship, despite spending all their days insulting others for it.
Are you saying Fallout 4 was pozzed from bugs or from being SJW? I didn't really see anything in it that was faggy bullshit, what sort of things did I miss?
No, I’m saying Cyberpunk is Fallout 4 but buggier and Pozzed. I don’t think FO4 was all that pozzed aside from the obvious “synths are supposed to be black people” shit.
I don't know how the fuck synths are supposed to be "black people", when you have a perfectly good black person fighting right beside you and telling you about how another settlement needs your help.
But then, these are the assholes who see "black people" in everything portrayed in a negative light ...
Yes, I know, but it was still stupid.
And I always kill the Railroad and just cc in the ballistic weave. :P
The thing about robots is this - if they're not to be used as slaves, there's no point in making them in the first place.
If you're conservative, sure. Because then you're procreating as designed. But if you're leftist and therefore anti-family? Well then you need alternative means to propagate your ideology.
But then that's just making a different kind of slave.
I think most of the cred it got is from it's developer. Being that they are from Poland (which is still at least hanging on to being a anti-Muslim, gay, abortion, etc. type country a bit) and their history with the Witcher games and GOG. The thing is not only would I argue they picked up a subject matter that already leans towards the SJW world but it's been in development a long time and the last five years have just been totally instrumental in seeing the culture shift of insanity.
I'd already lost all my hype about it six months or more ago. I'm not sure how many people actually thought it would be based. There were just too many red flags that it would be iffy at best.
I guess I shouldn't also be surprised that at this point while I started it one night last week I haven't played it since Friday despite a rainy and lazy weekend. What amazing new games have me distracted instead? God of War 2 and Day of the Tentacle. Yeah, that's right the hottest new game and the first game I've had near launch in years, and I'm instead playing games that came out in 1993 and 2007. I sit down and play those, get in a zone and burn away hours. Cyberpunk I get bored and move on to something else.
Yeah I could argue that for a lot of different forms of fictional entertainment. What I can't really figure out is when the lines got so blurred and these fictional elements became such a part of someone's identity here in the real world.
Maybe it's always been that way. I didn't really notice it until Harry Potter came around. I was a little too old for that but now you've got grown adults that identify themselves as a "Griffindor" or whatever and talk about how a fictional world totally changed their life. I just have no understanding of that. I was into Star Wars as a kid. Did it change my life? Hell no. Do I go around today telling everyone I'm a master Jedi? No. That would have gotten a kid laughed at back then much less an adult. It was just some fun fictional stories I watched, read, and played for entertainment purposes.
Harry Potter was wish fulfillment for weird kids. Where Rowling succeeded was she realized she had to age up the books with her readers. So these weird kids who stayed weird latched onto this fictional world and decided the fictional world is how they're basing their worldviews on and only this world.
Talk to any of these Potter heads and you'll find out that outside of Harry Potter and other books associated with it that they have never read any other books.
Harry Potter was the series that helped me discover I liked fantasy stories. Since then I've read a bunch more, many I've re-read, Discworld being my favorite. Haven't gone back to Harry Potter once, not counting the movies(EDIT: Then Hogwarts Legacy of course, it was the realized dream of a HP game I always wanted as a kid). The idea of someone reading those books and not wanting to try anything else similar baffles me.
Even Total Recall managed to sneak some SJW shit in
"please care about the poor mutant Martians"
Honestly I kind of took that as a piss take....like fuck the martians. lmao. Great flick. Back when men were men and women+children were scared.
Not just scifi but Cyberpunk in general is a lot more leftist SJW fantasy land than any other genre. The current crop just hates it because they are so far gone even their fantasies aren't good enough.
I have this theory that even if the devs may be somewhat based, chances are that companies hire consultants like Anita as a way to be ok with the current industry standards. Put yourself in the devs shoes, this consultant that is payed a lot more then you tells you that you have to have women leaders and minorities, also you can't make them evil. Are you going to say no? Of course not, at the end of the day is a job for you, you do not own the company and you do not want to upset anyone. So this is why you are left with only white men as evil characters and to balance the number of white or men characters you get a bunch of women and minorities in positive or leadership roles.
This is actually something that is confirmed to be done in movie.
I eventually had to tell her that minorities are usually not bad guys and if you remove all the minorities you are left with a surprisingly low amount of white people as suspects.
They also told off saint Anita, which really pissed her off.
Whoever would have guessed.
Not many, the hype in RL around the game is real. I know a few that thought it was a manly game, like witcher 3 but with implants. They had Keanu Reaves, the guy who plays John Wick and Neo, they basically sold it to normies as a game designed for guys. People in RL do not read kotakuinaction2, they are not aware of what SJW is, they do not even know what gamer gate is other then some comments here and there.
Red Flag 1 (What personally made me avoid it)
Red Flag 2.
Red Flag 3.
Red Flag 4.
Red Flag 5.
Women protagonists shouldn't even be an issue these days. Also, Reeves doesn't really make political statements and tends to just quietly give his money away to special effects and sound teams... stand up guy in my book.
Oh it's an issue all right, as in they are all female!
I used to love picking the girl in games, not any more, it's bros all the way for me now...I don't like being told what to do much at all.
Female protagonists were not an issue a decade ago. They are an issue now because they signal massive leftist influence.
Think of it this way: would a woke dev team use anything other than a female protagonist? No? Then why wouldn't a female protagonist be a gigantic red flag for woke devs? And when have woke devs not forced their bullshit into their games?
I played loads of games with strong female characters back in the 90s and 00s. Today, I simply won't touch a game unless it has a male lead or a character creator.
Lol, well to someone like me who hasn’t been following gaming news since basically 2015 or earlier what little bits I heard I felt like it was a safe purchase!
It is like the Mandalorian, season 2. They even have a scene with a classroom and not a single one of them is a white boy. Almost all is Mexican and South Asian, with one or two white girls. This is the future folks, it has already arrived.
In one of the first missions with Jackie I found one of those electronic note things on a shelf. It was a big long rant about healthcare and how everybody needs universal health care provided by the government. I thought I was reading a Bernie Fucking Sanders political speech
The creators of this bug ridden shit storm thought they were being clever.
They knew they had to go SJW cause that's the mandate of the age, but they also knew their audience on the whole didn't want it cause no-one ever does...so they picked a world that is already like that...cyberpunk...that way they could ride the line until launch and sucker their audience into buying it.
Well they have killed their reputation now...with yet another example of a highly corrupt press giving a mediocre product all the high scores on the back of a passable PC version, fuck everyone else.
It is insane how buggy this game is. Already on v 1.04, and the game probably crashes more now than it did before. And everytime it crashes, nothing insane is happening, im literally just walking down a street lol
People were in denial and forget that EVERY video game company is woke now
Guess im passing on the game.
I would say definitely wise on passing it up paying for it. If I could do it again, I would just download a cracked copy to wet any curiosity wanting to see it.
You have to see the positive side: what did all those women and diversity bosses accomplish? A total degenerate town, with no law and the only possible way for the MC to survive is being a mechanical freak, who has to massacre massive amounts off people. So that's the future SJW will bring you.
Diversity = Slums, dirt everywhere, degenerate modified humans, violence and ugly people everywhere.
The bugs make it even better, because even in real life diversity failed and whoever was responsible for the game is the living proof.
I bet all the last months real programmers had to fix as many bugs as possible XD.
And the best? Every person I kill is a SJW, so I can happily play a total Psycho xD
Right!!! i think that's what Mike Pondsmith was going for...showing the absolute WORST of what happens when you follow that SJW/Diversity warrior path to it's logical conclusion...I think it's based in hiding, basically. Night City is fucking hellhole!
I don't think it was their goal at all, they are just to stupid to realize what they have done and are proud of all the representation. This is a SJW mess of a game, I just interpret it my way.
I'm just laughing at the people that wasted their money on this trash. The multiple game delays should have been your first warning that things were messed up. Your next warning should have been how much hype it was getting. The hype machine is all about getting you excited so you'll buy a piece of shit product without paying attention to its quality. Anyone who falls for the hype machine in this day and age of widespread streaming and video reviews gets what they fucking deserve.
It's not entirely obvious. Delays doesn't mean a terrible game, especially if its from a "good" developer. Red Dead was delayed plenty of times, and that is a finely polished game.
RDR2 had a mission where you had to protect first wave feminists.
lol, damn I need to play it again. I just fucked with that one feminist shouting at arthur calling him an idiot. Would love to just fail that mission on purpose.
It's not satire?
Nope. Maybe there is some satire in the game, but its 100% presenting the SJW bullshit as serious.
Tell me the name of one of these trans characters, and I'll take it off my wishlist.
Two simple answers. One is that the dev had a good reputation as a holdout against poz stuff. The other is that faggots complained about stuff shown of the game. This second answer is the interesting one, to me.
I watched some shill-heavy spaces and saw the "based" idea take off. The anti-sjws were so eager for a victory, that they prematurely claimed one, perhaps. The sjws complained endlessly, as they are wont to do, but it wasn't actually because they were losing a battle. Now, as I mentioned, it was shill-heavy, so I must wonder at how much of the circus was pure modern marketing. I have a nagging suspicion that it was 90% marketing.
They kept the poster, which I liked though that could have been regressive influenced.
