I think it would be hilarious if, for instance, the Speaker of the House tried to flee the country. Perhaps spite and vengeance isn't the best driving force, and I can't say for certain whether such actions would be extremely beneficial for the country, very damaging, or somewhere in between...but damn would it be satisfying at this point.

I think that he is in a position that he can't back out without getting himself and his family killed. Look at all of the schemes he's ruined and apple carts he upset. It has gotten to the point where there are groups calling for the death of his supporters and associates. You can bet that they'll try to kill Trump and everyone that supported him, regardless if he gives in or not.
