I mentioned it in another reply, but when I say filler, I refer to parts of the anime that are not in the manga. I always thought of filler as what felt like 90% of Naruto episodes, regardless of the content of the story or the episodes, if they aren't in the original manga they are filler.

That being said some of the filler is good, but I think most ends up being a complete throwaway in the overall life of a series.

When I say very little filler, I refer to stuff that is not in the manga, not necessarily that the content is worthwhile, at least in the context of an anime adaptation of a manga.

The anime has almost no filler, at least in terms of the overall story arcs. The movies could be considered filler if you wanted, as none of them are based on the manga.

I mean this is an easy disregard without reading a headline or the body of the article itself;

Arica L. Coleman is the author of That the Blood Stay Pure: African Americans, Native Americans and the Predicament of Race and Identity in Virginia and chair of the Committee on the Status of African American, Latino/a, Asian American, and Native American (ALANA) Historians and ALANA Histories at the Organization of American Historians.

I looked up the SaturdayAM people from the post above, and they are definitely trying to do just that. On their website, its 25 series listed that are all vaguely anime/manga...ish but with roughly half of them being clearly black characters on the thumbnail.

That being said I have read manga for at least 20 years, and still do daily, and have never heard of a single one of their series listed. So at least they haven't made much progress yet, thankfully.

Maybe specifying that it wasn't made in Japan or made by a Japanese person is wrong, but I just would never consider manga made here, especially by shit stirring diversity advocates to even be in the same discussion as manga. I don't even consider Korean manhwa to be manga (partially because it has its own name, and partially because most manhwa are complete shit). I'd never consider Chinese manhua to be manga either for similar reasons.

That being said, food analogies are always fucking stupid, and manga is widely considered to be "comics or graphic novels originating from Japan" so I'm not sure what the point is there.

Shonen just means "boys" essentially, so anything that is targeted at younger males is Shonen, technically.

That being said, it would be a Shonen comic at best, definitely not a manga as you said it is not made by a Japanese person.

This ABC News/Washington Post poll was conducted by landline and cellular telephone April 24-28, 2022, in English and Spanish, among a random national sample of 1,004 adults. Results have a margin of sampling error of 3.5 percentage points, including the design effect. Partisan divisions are 29-25-40%, Democrats-Republicans-independents.

Nice, 1000 random people on the phone across 4 days, and 70% Dems/Independents out of that 1000, super useful information as usual.

To be honest it wasn't the teams or orgs, it was a handful of players speaking out, and both casters just backed out essentially instantly. I think they were just super spooked, Grant said literally nothing in defense, Tobi's defense got shit on by reddit + (some) BTS team members so be disappeared right after.

I think it was an absolute shame to lose them both, and put a sour taste in my mouth for any sort of pro scene content for a long while.

Yea the majority of it is kind of them like...insinuating that he isn't welcome in their town for example, but it's purely an antagonistic thing. The old black barber in the show has been there his entire life and seems pretty chill, cause he isn't a detective investigating people doing bad shit, so it's pretty fitting.

8
yeyeyeya 8 points ago +8 / -0

There are a couple parts where the black detective in a small town in Georgia complains about racism, directly and indirectly. People are shitty to him multiple times because he is black, and I'm gonna be honest that seems pretty par for the course for the area, especially when the characters are antagonists.

The main female character bitches several times about how she isn't a weak little girl or doesn't need protecting, but in the end is almost entirely useless hiding behind things while the others do the work so take that as you will.

I think it was much less woke than your average new release and a decent show, nothing groundbreaking but I was entertained.

It is great, and the caveat is that it is great at what it does. It's a comedy series originally drawn in a really crude style, but was picked up by an incredible artist so now it's a comedy series with amazing art and action. The action panels are insane - an example of a gif made with his panels; https://c.tenor.com/pYataaiHwi4AAAAd/one-punch-man-opm.gif

All that to say, if you go into it understanding its a comedy and a play on the Superhero genre rather than being some hyper serious action/drama series it is really good imo.

You guys gotta stop making threads calling them 'tolerant' like its a moniker or term they even use any more. They are openly, and will happily show hatred and disdain for anyone right of them, the tolerance is not a quality they pretend to use anymore. It's not a burn to them, just makes you look silly for even using it against them.

They hate you, you know this already, just call them pieces of shit for being disgusting anti-human freaks if you have the wrong opinion.

I'll say a couple things about this after playing it - it's free, so I haven't given anyone money for it, to start with. The story is absolute dogshit trash, like most Korean story-telling in games (and manga/manhwa), and honestly in their dramas and movies. They have some hits, just like us, but this is not one of them.

So considering that, 90% of the player base spams esc/skips cutscenes and is never going to see these characters, or know their names at all. It doesn't excuse the stupid bullshit diversity but it makes it less noticeable for most players. The race swapped cards I haven't actually seen yet, but I don't even pay much attention to the card images so it's kind of a null for me. And there are definitely some stand out NPCs that just have dark skin but are otherwise a carbon copy of the NPCs around them so that was an obvious checkbox for them.

The character creation has incredibly obvious black faces for both genders, and some very clearly black hairstyles to go along with it - I can't say for sure but I doubt they existed in the original because they really stand out. I just can't see Koreans playing a very clearly black-featured character with the stereotypical big lips and wide nose shape.

The game itself is quite fun, quests are monotonous and stupid shit that you see in every MMO, but fighting and skill choices are fun, combat is satisfying and fighting swarms of enemies (as often as you can in early game at least) is a ton of fun. If you like Diablo/PoE style games and also like the over the top action in eastern games with flashy attacks (kinda like BDO or Tera if you've played) - this one is free and worth a shot. I don't think anything on the cash shop is worth it for me, and wouldn't want to give them money after all of the censorship news and pictures even before this post anyway.

4% for me, no complaints from my part as I'm above six figures and live well within my means.

Spoke to someone that works at HP/Arista(solutions architect type position) at work recently, he said that it will potentially go into 2023 due to backorders for stuff constantly stacking up. I didn't ask him for sources or anything like that considering it was a casual work conversation but I think it seems likely, lead time on gear we need for work is up to 180 days on some pieces so its obvious that it's impacting a ton of sectors of tech.

Well the prize pool is from last year because TI was delayed due to the coof, but moving forward that's a good plan and I don't plan to contribute again after seeing this. Can't do anything about the hats I bought last year though, unfortunately.

Bro you could just google the lyrics and come the conclusion you are already determined to come to, why would you ask a bunch of spergs like us if we listen to Ariana Grande?

3
yeyeyeya 3 points ago +3 / -0

Well I don't think anyone should try it because I think they will love it, I think they should try it because it's a low cost/investment experience really. In this situation TheImp is a woman hating giga sperg, and this movie, in some people's opinions, created or at least pushed along, women being ruined entirely. So it's kind of like seeing something in retrospect that set things in motion almost as a study but really just a casual observation for fun.

Also quick edit - I totally agree with you on food/alcohol/pop culture stuff, just mostly was poking fun at him more than anything.

7
yeyeyeya 7 points ago +8 / -1

I actually hope that you are joking bro, and if you aren't, you should really go watch it some time even though you will fucking detest it.

There is even a song by some no-names called "Scott Pilgrim vs the world ruined an entire generation of women" while the song isn't too great, the lyrics are fantastic and very apt.

My best story about this is when an (asian female) friend drove me to work when I was younger, she was eating spaghetti, off of a plate, with a fork...while driving. We were only going about 10 minutes down the road but I have never been more scared for my life in a vehicle.

I didn't know why she had to choose to do it there and couldn't wait the 20~ minutes or so to get back home either. When I brought it up years later she just had no recollection so I can only think it never even crossed her mind if she should or shouldn't do shit like that while driving.

To be fair to your usual anti-women sperg tendencies, she also definitely did it to buy mindless trinkets and flex on people.

The fucking dinosaur statue does and the GUY GIVING THE FUCKING FAKE SHOT DOESN'T, the absolute state of these people.

I can't even begin to comprehend how they could be so completely out of touch with shit like this.

Monster Hunter Rise did the same thing which is immensely disappointing for me with MH being one of my favorite series of all time. There is and always has been different designs for male/female armor as well so I don't know what the fucking point is.
