Excuse my blog post. I once suffered through watching Back to the Future with some very liberal friends (this was in 2018 or so). While watching, one of them pulled up an article about how Biff in part 2 was based on Donald Trump. It makes sense, as it was filmed in the late 80's and he owned a casino in that movie. Somehow, they extrapolated this to mean that Biff was also based on Trump in the first movie (the one we were watching.) They began saying that him trying to rape Lorraine made so much more sense, considering Trump's "grab them by the pussy" attitude (a quote which didn't become known until 2016.)
That's when the horror struck me: despite being fans of a time travel movie franchise, their liberal hivemind couldn't think four-dimensionally. Trump was ALWAYS known as "grab them by the pussy" man. Ukraine has always been under threat by Putin. And, of course, Oceania had always been at war with Eastasia.

I'm sure they made a decent amount of money before being booted.

Times like this I'm glad I'm no longer on Facebook. I'm sure several of my friends would have been quick to type out their own knee-jerk "it's all Trump's fault/I hate white people" responses. Then when the news came out, and they didn't retract their nonsense, I'd have to fight the urge to call them out on it.

The article says "they later dropped Brooks off at a nearby subdivision". That's not the same as "abandoned on a highway."

Because none of them drove the car which hit her. They dropped her off at an apartment complex, presumably near where she lived, and she was struck by an uber driver while wandering around.

I know, it's wrong to blame the victim and nobody is asking for it and all that. But god damn, at some point you need to exercise some self control, situational awareness, and sound judgment.

Two things.

1. He was white and because people are so enlightened and not racist today they can dismiss his efforts and his very life based on the color of his skin.
2. He wasn’t progressive by modern standards, which means he wasn’t progressive at all. There’s no mention in the bio of him supporting sex changes or Ukraine.

This bothers me, as bre'r rabbit is a genuine part of African-American folklore. The idiot disparaging it as "written by a white guy" is missing the context that HE KNEW HOW TO WRITE. These stories were a part of oral tradition and might have been lost if someone didn't bother to record them at all. But no, it's better to replace it with some shoddy product (which was also deemed problematic because, for most of the movie's runtime, the black princess isn't even human) because ... because Disney said so? Same as what happened with the Maelstrom ride, which was about genuine Nordic culture, now replaced by Frozen ... which was inspired by it. Poorly.

This concept of retroactive cancellation is so bizarre.

I think I read somewhere that it'll emphasize how the camp has a blood curse placed on it. So likely we'll get some native american grievances. However they have said the show is focused on "these two characters" which can reasonably be surmised to be Jason and his mother. Maybe they're going for a Bates Motel kind of thing, but does that make sense? Jason "died" when he was young. And does anybody really want to watch a show about a retard getting bullied?

Polygon apparently had an interesting take. They're offended that more isn't made of the protagonist's blackness and that she doesn't endure racism in the colorblind alternative reality she finds herself in. And on its face, that's a retarded take on an action game. But considering these games crawl up their own asses and force players to spend as much time watching cinematics as they do actually playing the game, is as valid a complaint as any. It's still retarded. I'm sure if Frey got called nigger in the fantasy world they'd then bitch about it perpetuating verbal violence against players of color in what was supposed to be escapism.

Well shit. I guess they're just going to have to roll the full credits for the games into each episode.

That's what I was thinking. With a title like that, making it gender neutral seems to seriously miss the point.

That's a tough one. On the one hand, you have Rowling, who is a completely woke imbecile with her retcon shenanigans. "Dumbledore was actually gay!" "I never said Hermione wasn't black!" But on the other hand you have these histrionic freaks who have completely lost their shit because Rowling wasn't game for every single thing they demand of members of the church of woke. Which is worse?

The thing is, OnLive had a more reasonable business model of "pay a monthly fee and it's all-you-can-play" (with some exceptions.) This is the model which has worked for Sony and Microsoft. How Google thought they'd make it with "pay a monthly fee for the privilege of also paying for each game" is insane.

"Gender swap" really is a signal of no imagination being involved in the process.
