I suppose you could try, but if they're so hellbent on insisting they're oppressed, it might as well be like talking to a wall and you would be far better off muting them.
I wonder if the people who push such things realize that maybe, just maybe saying that the world will be absoulutely wrecked in a few years every decade or so might be the reason why some people are "skeptical" of climate change,
I don't buy the "Oh but it shows that girls growing up too fast and being sexualized is a bad thing!" Maybe, but you don't need to show the characters doing these things to make a point, and it kinda ruins the "message" of the film as the director is doing the exact same thing that she's saying it's wrong, kind of like a director making an actor drown a kitten to show how animal abuse is awful, you can find a way to make the same point without doing the thing you're claiming to be against. Still, I'm certain the fact that the director is a black woman it's the main reason why some people defend it.
Yeah, even the red carpet is usually quite boring, most of the time I'm thinking "Who are these people?", but maybe it's the channel that does the transmission that interviews these people.
As a non-American, I don't give two shits, the Oscars are mainly for Hollywood and American films, who cares if not represented? No one watches them for "representation" anyways.
Yes, let's screw up kid's learning and growing up because some people still think Coronavirus might as well be Ebola, what could go wrong?
White guilt is dumb, even if you can actually trace your ancestry to slave owners or colonialists, you're not them. And it does absolutely nothing, do you see any of those "Oh, I'm so full of privilege for being white, what a disgusting human being I am" doing something helpful? No.
Which makes it a bit cringy, to be fair.
How do you do it? Deporting them would be impossible, but if I imagine many of them wouldn't be glad to hear they'll have no welfare and they'll have to earn money and pay taxes like a citizen (Now, I don't know how many of them are like that, but I can imagine the ones that are in their countries for years and can barely speak their language don't have good jobs) and maybe they will leave?
I always felt like they based Rey out of these YA heroines who are like "Oh no I'm a normal girl but also the chosen one!", hell, you even have the "hot" guy falling for her, the last three films remind me of those kind of movies/films.
I always thought they flocked to Nintendo because it's well known and even your average games journalist can play Animal Crossing or Mario so they can say "Yeah I'm a gamer",
The Premier League/Football overall is not safe from BLM bullshit, (Yesterday in the Iceland - England match the Icelandic players kneeled, no offense, they can do what they want, but... they're from fucking Iceland.) buuut at least it is still watchable.
Now, I can't really comment since I only watch basketball when it's the olympics/world cup (not that I have much choice here, it's all NBA and maaaaybe a few matches of the Real Madrid/Barcelona teams) but I can imagine it can get boring when every shot is trying to be a three pointer or a dunk...
They did it for the Chinese audience, but why do they think Chinese audiences will go and watch Disney's attempts to pander to them with Chinese culture when they could easily watch Chinese films written by people who actually know the culture? They surely don't expect Disney to make an historically accurate film...
Yeah, but she doesn't stay clumsy, although the fact that she was helped by a male officer would make feminists go "REEE you think women can only become better under male supervision" because God forbid we show men and women (dressed as men in this case, but still) working alongside eachother.
The worst part is that she's weak at the beginning and then works hard to get better, literally everyone is clumsy and unskilled when they first do something, but apparently "telling" girls they're not going to be experts at something but they can be if they work hard is forbidden.
Yes, clearly they have to know how "pure" a thing is before they like it, you can't do that when you have to stick to a theme and rules on a livechat.
The Chinese Flu has given a lot of people the chance to act holier than thou, in my country there's still people who think people who go for a walk with their kids are literally killing people.
That's what I thought too, I mean, Latin America received many Levantine Arabs and they integrated just fine (They were also mostly Christian IIRC, but even the muslim ones are probably quite secular)
Greeks aren't exotic enough in looks or culture, so their food is great (probably better than anything SJWs think "it's worth it" tbh) but they are still European so it doesn't count as "diversity".
I'm certain the children of today know how to use their phones/tablets to watch Dragon Ball or Pokémon, so I doubt it.
It's clearly written by someone whose first language isn't English, or a native speaker who is shit at it.
Of course, you can't be a tomboy without growing up to be a lesbian or even trans/non-binary.
And I'm willing to bet they're going to make it "dark and gritty" but it will end up being deviantart-tier edgy crap.
You're expecting them to actually know something about Africa, and that there, your ethnic group or even religion is far more important that sharing a somewhat similar skin color, which I guess it is what shocks them about Africans not accepting them as their "brothers/sisters", they see that they're both black, so they have to be the same, right? Well, no... that's not really how it works.
I don't think a few years of taking estrogen and chopping your dick off changes your brain that much to erase behaviors that you had pretty much all your life.
And I'm certain many of them were exactly like that before transition and being trans gave them the opportunity to be a bully but also pretend they're the victim when called out.
Neither do I, the world is not perfect, but I don't know how sitting around crying "waaah I'm opressed give me money" makes a difference.
