Sounds like you're just discovering pil-pul. Welcome to the club. It becomes immediately apparent, and you immediately recognize that the person doing it is arguing in bad faith. It's linked with a certain ethnicity. But of course... not all of them use it all of the time...
But the Beatles are obviously wildly talented. They wrote some of the best music and melodies of all time. They're nowhere close to being my favourite band, but they're obviously magnificent. Why are people re-writing this particular history?
They do the same thing with U2, but there it makes sense, because that band really fell off a cliff at some point.
A lot of people woke up during Covid, so there's still a need for this sort of thing.
Also, people on the 'right' tend to have normal lives, so it's odd to them that there are armies of leftists who devote their entire lives to lying/prevaricating.
I love their fondness for staying slim and mostly ignoring other cultures.
