Black people literally CANNOT enjoy anything because wypipo won't ban guns.

Sotomayor tried to stop this madness but the other justices on the far-right supreme court wouldn't let her.

That's 303 too many. If someone is a real "refugee" they must shelter in the nearest safe country bordering their home country. As an island nation Japan doesn't border anyone so they don't need to take any refugees.

I'll die on that hill.

Would you really? You're an anon on a message board. In real life the pedo accusation even without evidence is so damaging that I doubt you or many people at all would truly stake their livelihood and reputations on this issue. Which speaks to the insidious nature of the opposition's actions here, and the unscrupulous lack of principle in the argument. They take an easy position on the side of power, and fall back to sophistry and word games like "you don't want to sexualize children do you? stop sexualizing children" knowing that's not the counter-argument. Imagine how they would destroy your life IRL simply for having an opinion. I won't argue there's not some perverts here who enjoy anime "child porn", but it's got to be a trivially insignificant compared to all the people who recognize going after drawings is in fact the "bullshit smokescreen" and a wedge issue to exert power.

I almost want to believe from trollin's username that he's intentionally playing the Agent of Chaos to encourage us to think deeper about this. He gives me the same vibes I got from Elon Musk when he claimed the reason he didn't want to let Alex Jones back on twitter was because he once held his dying son in his arms. (???)

As HallucinatoryBeing pointed out above he thought it would be an easy win with normies and the media. He may have even thought it would save lives. Trump is essentially a classic New York democrat. He doesn't know anything about firearms or 2A and doesn't particularly care for them either way. He only backs the right to bear arms because he's a populist and that's what his constituents demand. Thankfully that means he put in judges who do understand 2A.

Save for the odd episode where they may touch on such questions, but shoo it away as inconsequential, and never bothering to visit it again.

A fundamental problem of episodic series. DS9 was only slightly better, since even though it was serial it focused almost entirely on soap opera drama and war. Those heady philosophical questions were still in the one-offs.

Nimoy-Bennett-Meyer

Berman-Piller-Taylor

They were all gold-pressed latinum compared to the excrement they try to pass off as entertainment today. My view of Berman has changed over the years and I get the idea he was an executive who saw himself in a careful balancing act.

Like, we’re they going for the wokest show on TV, that had as little as possible in common with its source material, or what??!

Yes, Kurtzman hates Star Trek he just wanted a platform to virtue signal enough to fail his way upward in Hollywood like big bro JJ.

Same situation as me growing up, and even then I had the exact same realization of this author (only without the "and that's a good thing" coat of paint) - that the ethnic-minority idea of a fun neighborhood is garish multi-colored apartment blocks bouncing side to side to the beat of constant noise and drama. Part and parcel of living in the big city!

Middle-class neighborhoods in Mexico (for what you can call middle class there) have constant music blaring into the streets and that's the way they like it, and they wonder why successful people who value peace and quiet don't want to stay there. IIRC The Bell Curve describes the rich vs poor divide there pretty well and how demographics are making it a reality in America.

main three (Visa, Mastercard, Amex.)

What about Discover? Yeah laugh if you want but they're pretty mainstream now and are part of the JCB/Diner's Club network that has been popular in Japan for a long time.

Why have the card companies just noticed? It was ok with them before for some reason.

xenophobic

It's such a stupid word, like all their "istaphobe" heresies. Japan during the isolation period could be called xenophobic. A country that has full trade with the world and tourism is not xenophobic. Literally nobody in Japan today is xenophobic. "Not particularly fond of foreigners" is not xenophobic. When the word is used, it's always misused, therefore it's meaningless.

But if you tAx TEh RiCH based on the expected carbon surplus, we can buy carbon credits to offset that and become carbon neutral.

Yep. ClosedAI was such a wonderful company before, just honest hard-working people like Dr. Sam Altman who as a child always wanted to use machine learning to help humanity. Partnering with an esteemed corporate citizen like Microsoft was only the tip of the amazing work they were about to accomplish. Sadly it has JUST NOW become a tool of the deep state. Yeah...

There is always the possibility. I'm sure if Giuliani was in DOJ (and maybe a bit younger) he would take a look at it. We really need to clean up the judiciary first.
