I liked pathfinder kingmaker a lot, still working through it. Though it does have a whole "patriarchy can't handle stronk woman" storyline it is thankfully not a a large part of an overall really well done game.

The one bisexual character in the game is chaotic evil which is pretty appropriate and there is a dialogue option to threaten to punch him in the face after he hits on you if he does it again.

The big developer stuff still holds up. There are some game mechanics that can be seem "unfair" like mob respawn triggers with no cooldowns, losing control during post-damage animation along with movement stall, and of course limited lives then game resets.

But the Nintendo, Capcom, Konami stuff is all still perfectly playable. Sega seems to have fewer "timeless" games but still a few gems.

All those games blur together with tactics ogre and disgaea, I just remember like the flexibility of the A2 jobs system and their "calendar" which was basically an endless mode

3D ages poorly but 2D is timeless

What I'm annoyed about is no modern console has a paddle controller. We are due for an Arkanoid remake.

And no matter what you think about the gatcha or monetization genshin impact is a well made game.

It runs perfectly on mobile compared to many games that don't even consider optimization. It uses Unity but is so customized that you can't find any "unityisms" that make it obvious what engine is behind it. The writing may not be the deepest but it is wholesome and fun and has a great saturday morning cartoon lighthearted adventure feel.
